Its definitely frustrating bro. Injuries suck but it's a part of the game. You cant play to not get hurt. All teams deal with it but ya it sucks losing your best player.

Positive for Leafs is they have JT, Marner, Nylander, and a lot more options than Oilers. If JT even gets one tonight he will be a rabid dog all game.

It's time some other players pick it up.

Honestly never understood why Agostino hasn't gotten a look with us. Some NHL experience, puts up great AHL numbers, and plays with some tenacity. Was confused why he's never even seemed to be in the running

Very possible. But Klefbom was the conesnsus #1D on the Oil going into the season. Nurse is playing by far the best hockey of his career but I don't know if he can keep it up.

Yeah our D last year was miles ahead of what the oilers trot out consistently...this year there is a huge gap...you can’t convince me Darnell Nurse is anything special he’s a 4-6 Dman tops Larsson is no Reilly, Russell isn’t close to Muzzin...I guess you can kind of compare our top 2 forwards (Matthews is slightly below McDavid and Marner is above Draisaitl) after that RNH is no JT he rides coattails “the winger to the stars” as he is called...they have no Nylander or anything close to him in their lineup...actually as in writing this I’m really not seeing your comparison

Its more about the caveman part of my brain wanting retribution for a dirty hit. I can accept injuries, what I don’t like is other players taking liberties with our best players and having no one doing anything about it. Matthews at least stood up for himself and went at Andersson but that no one else even bothered to look at the guy pissed me off.

It was a close game and the team would rather the win I get it, but at some point someone is going to have to cave someone’s face in before it’s a more serious injury than a day-to-day.

If Matthews is hurting that bad, let the guy sit this one out. We're at the top of the standings and he's missed practice. We're sitting pretty comfortably in a playoff spot right now, why risk our best player.

Dress him and have the discipline to only play him on the PP...he will be fine

Oilers fans, fresh off players awards being handed to them like candy despite their team never being good, and the recipients of the fawning Oil Change documentary series courtesy of that evil National Media...and fresh off an offseason where the Leafs were raked over the coals and their GM and Coach portrayed as being on the hot seat after 1 and 2yrs on the job.....while the national media bent over backwards to praise every other team's moves and name them all as North division favorites over the leafa....are actually convincing themselves that the media favors.... THE LEAFS!!

Because apparently the media is ridiculous for suggesting that the goal per game center leading the team who's been in first place all year might actually be a legit MVP candidate!

Agreed. Could have been a great game with matthews vs mcdavid but now excitement is a lot lower for a saturday night game.

No one on this team makes me excited like matthews does.
