He stops shots nhl goalies should stop. He’s been amazing
Everything thing else is gravy .
Samaonov doesn't stop the fundamentally simple shots lately
Could be another head case

If Jones continues to provide solid backup goaltending, I’d move Samsonov. There’s a few teams currently looking for goaltenders. LA being one of them, Grundstrom and a pick would do IMO.What happens when Woll comes back? Does Jones go on waivers?
Uhhh given that he’s better than our supposed 1b (who is a trainwreck this year) I’d say NO.What happens when Woll comes back? Does Jones go on waivers?
With the way Sammy has been playing, we aren’t getting positive value for him - even if it’s just a 1 year deal, he’s still playing at a #3 goalie level and making $3.55 mil. It’d be more like Sammy, 50% retained, for a 7th.If Jones continues to provide solid backup goaltending, I’d move Samsonov. There’s a few teams currently looking for goaltenders. We can only hope for this to be anything to worry about by that time. The same essentially applies for the newfound depth on the blueline,What happens when Woll comes back? Does Jones go on waivers?
Samsonov is also coming off a really good year. I’m sure a team would give him a shot for a career fourth line player. With the way Sammy has been playing, we aren’t getting positive value for him - even if it’s just a 1 year deal, he’s still playing at a #3 goalie level and making $3.55 mil. I’m sure we can trade him and get something
Agreed. That was a sweet 38 save shutout last night and Sammy's been so bad. I've seen enough to say move Sammy now.Uhhh given that he’s better than our supposed 1b (who is a trainwreck this year) I’d say NO.
This does seem more realistic than getting some good assets. Might be able to do a bit better than that but even if this is the best we can do, it's worth doing IMO.With the way Sammy has been playing, we aren’t getting positive value for him - even if it’s just a 1 year deal, he’s still playing at a #3 goalie level and making $3.55 mil. Over Samsonov, yes.Jones as been solid in his 6 periods but surely you aren't sold on him after 6 periods
Don't be too sure, that larger body of work this season has been pretty bad.I get the Samsonov hate, but when Woll comes back Jones will be sent down, and he will probably clear waivers. Management is not going to choose 10 games of Jones over the larger body of Samsonov's work.
It's been poor games mixed with good games, against the backdrop of an overall very good season last year. Jones looking fine in a 7 goal blowout isn't going to push management off the guy who is simply the better goalie overall (Samsonov). I think the more fair question is whether management is comfortable with the idea of resting its Cup chase on the shoulders of a rookie goalie.Don't be too sure, that larger body of work this season has been pretty bad.

Sammy's been so bad, it's not clear he's the better goalie. Our cup hopes rest with Woll regardless, it's just a question of who's going to play a bunch of games between now and when the playoffs start. It's been poor games mixed with good games, against the backdrop of an overall very good season last year. And I imagine this is the issue that concerns management the most. Not to say it can't be done, because Aidin Hill was hardly a veteran when he won last season, but it's a big ask to put on a rookie goalie.Sammy's been so bad, it's not clear he's the better goalie. There are a few areas of concern, not sure if Woll is what I'd be "most" worried about. And I imagine this is the issue that concerns management the most. Not to say it can't be done, because Aidin Hill was hardly a veteran when he won last season, but it's a big ask to put on a rookie goalie.
Why not? Don't we have cap space to spare as it is?I can’t see any scenario where we hold 50% of his contract. I think we sooner find a way to LTIR him than do that lol
Other than Binnington, name the last rookie goalie to win a cup as the starter? It's a very uncommon occurrence. Does this management team want to take that risk? There are a few areas of concern, not sure if Woll is what I'd be "most" worried about.

Hell yeah get our pic bac from la and he’d be the perfect fit for kampfTrust him more than Sammy
I would be comfortable with
Woll
Jones
Except for Boston maybe the Rangers every other team is screwed if there stater goes down
TB if Vasi goes down they are screwd
Islanders Valamov
LA Talbot
Vegas Hill
Van Demko
Win Hellebuyck
There backup goaltenders are good for a small stretch
