The window is nearly closed, for all the reasons you just mentioned. The only reason we could stretch out the core 4 years was good cheap UFA signings. This crop just about closes things out. Its likely time for a retool.

the "mess" is paying $14 million for Bertuzzi, Domi, Klingberg and Reaves to be absolutely useless. Klingberg and Reaves are worse than useless, they're just actually terrible players constantly hurting the team

anyone blaming Dubas sounds like a moron. This is the worst depth the Leafs have had, by far. That is what missing on every free agent signings does.

Listen he did some things well and so far Treliving has been very underwhelming but to act like Dubas was some kind of wizard is crazy.
