We need to build a team that can match anyone, whether it’s an kffensive team or defensive team. Whether they play in the rush or cycling we need to be able to defend and counter nkt just game plan for one style

Why are you on Samsonov? Why do you expect him to pitch a shutout? He has 40 million dollar forwards upfront who are paid to score. The 3 million dollar goalie allowed 2 soft-ish goals, while the 40 million dollar forwards mustered one goal.

The timing of goal are ALWAYS pretty bad,

he cost game 1 vs tampa because the was looking like a hot potatoes everytime he touched and allowed a lot of bad rebound/ bad goal...

Gm 3 he allowed a bad goal to tie the game at 2-2 and came back on locker room tie unstead than a 2-1 lead to start 3rd period... giving up a very awful goal gm 5 to eysimont who was turning point of that game.

Game 1 vs florida when both team was even, gave up a juicy rebound from corner right in the slot... when leafs came back let an other goal goes in because he lost his feeting

Game w leafs took a 2 goal lead and he gave up 2 weak goal... unstead of playing with confidence at 2-0, they was playing with all the pressure on their shoulder because he didn't made basic save

Vs mtl was the same thing, never made any key save...

Vs minnesota when wild was dead, gave up an awful goal and minnesota started to play with energy again.

Against florida, toronto was great in 1st period where toronto and florida was even... 2 allowed 2 weak goal late in the period and they come back trailing by 2 in locker room

Thats the difference between winning and losing, you can have the bewt foward group in the world, if your goalie never making key saves at right time, you will always struggle to win.

Sorry right now 1st 3 game of the season, Samsoniv was looking closer of Jack Campbell level than an #1 goalie in NHL who could help leafs to make a run

You can reshuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic all you want but that doesn't address why the team is top heavy in spending and scoring..

A core 4 that uses up 1/2 the salary cap managed 1 single goal combined against Florida and the other 1/2 the roster combined for Zero.

Put the Forwards and Dmen into a blender all you want BUT start with your 3 centers and build a balanced top 9 and then stick to that for a while to allow linemates to work together and form chemistry.

Toronto required 2 X 6 on 5 (goalie out) goals to beat Montreal a bottom 5 team from last year, and lost to the last place Chicago team when 6 X 5 goalie out failed to tie the game and Leafs only scored a single goal against Florida that came on the PP.

After 4 games and a 2-2 record how many ES goals have the Leafs scored that didn't include AM, MM, WN and JT (1/2 their Salary Cap)?

Leafs are not being propelled by ES 5v5 play but rather Special teams PP time or man up for the most part, and only getting offense from the Core 4 and when the Core 4 don't contribute the odds of Leafs losing against anyone is high.

PS. Florida was missing 2 X Top pairing Dmen in Ekblad and Montour on LTIR and a core forward in Sam Bennett to injury and Leafs couldn't take advantage of that which was disappointing. This was a team missing 3 key players.

Im agree with you and thats why for me no doubt they need to split core 4 in 3 different line and create chemistry...exemple

I dislike Keefe a hell of a lot but let's face it, it's not all on him. He's simply dressing the plugs his GM gave him...the fact that he's got a raw Minten on line 3 speaks volumes about how weak the bottom 6 is.

He continues to stack the top 2 lines regardless of how its going....and when M&M arent going he changes up the 3rd wheel on their line? He is like a lot of coaches in that he has his bias and can be stubborn trying to force his way. Ill just keep doing the same thing over and over even when its not working because thats all I got (ideas) is what Im seeing. He seems to have a hard time adjusting when things arent going his way

I found it strange too. Van Ryan came in and took the defence duties away from Dean even though he's been really good. Dean now only does the PK which is the one that still looks fine. I didn't like it.
