I think we learnt some good stuff tonight, legitimately.

The support caat did their job. They didn't back down. They stayed aggressive and stayed in the game. That bodes well.

Looks like it is Sammy's net even though the organization looks to be wanting Woll to win the job. We got outgoalied in both games.

Edmundson needs to come in for Liljegren in the playoffs because the Bruins will target him all series and he won't stand up for himself, leading others to not only have to worry about their own game, but his too.

We need to pick up a pking forward tomorrow and remove Nylander from the PK.

We really, really, really need to sit the core 4 down in a room with Sheldon and Brad and have a conversation. We need to find out what it is that they want. What are you wanting to achieve here? What does that look like in their eyes? What do they feel the have to do in order to achieve that?

We won't go anywhere the way the four of the played in the last two games against Boston. There needs to be a clear the air talk with them. Their play is simply unacceptable given what they wanted (and what we gave them) to be paid.

If we can sort this out, we will beat the Bruins in the playoffs, I am sure of it.
Nailed it, all the new guys showed up: McCabe, Benoit, Domi, Bert, Boosh. The guys making all the money were not in the battle at all and I'm tired of them getting a free pass from getting their hands dirty.

I mean Matthews, Marner, Nylander are all producing tremendously

I think people are under the assumption that these guys should carry every game. That just doesn’t work for good teams. The stars can’t do it all by themselves. The team around them is just too mediocre.
They took all the money so they can’t build a deep enough team.

the reason why the leafs wont ever win with these guys...
every cup champs best players lead their teams into battle (kuch, mckinnon, marchand etc etc etc)

this teams stars cant even be dragged into the fight.
Sad but true and somehow Shanahan forgot hockey.

Dude....this is the NHL. Winning the Cup isn't easy. The margin between winning and losing is razor thin. Injuries, getting the bounces and some breaks. The Leafs are very capable of winning it all this year. Right now I'd rank the east as 1. Florida followed by the Toronto. And Colorado winning it all. But anything can happen.

The sky is falling crowd just comes out after the losses. There are so many positive things to take from this team. First and foremost being the Core 4 that we are blessed to watch on a nightly basis. Matthews is historic. Even the TSN Overdrive crew and Wayne Simmonds were gushing over every aspect of #34's game. They are never out of any game. They win the close games and overtime. They are deadly with the goalie pulled and needing a goal to tie. The power play strikes fear in opponents. They won 5 in a row without the team's best D-man! Our best goalie is still returning from injury and getting back into form and sure tonight wasn't his best night, but overall there's positive signs.

The bottom line is that the Leafs are an elite team with a Core 4 that is envy of the league and they are in an environment thanks to Keefe, Shanny and Tre that they thrive in and they're happy to be here showing their talent for our entertainment all year long.

After every loss the Sky Is Falling crowd rears their head to act like doom is upon us.

The thing is it’s not like they aren’t producing. Matthews is on pace for 70 goals. All three of our top guys should be around 100 points. How much more can we ask for?

It’s Tavares that’s really in the dump right now

Brodie, Kampf, Reaves alone are all wasted cap that other teams are spending much more efficiently
Do we really still care about regular season stats ?

What did you like about McCabe's game tonight? Was it the 2 stupid cross checking penalties to start the game (1 was incorrectly given to Knies) or was it the Bruins #3 goal where McCabe had no idea what to do on the PK, caught in no mans land at the side of the net which he allowed the seam pass and then didn't go out to the shooter and just kind of collapsed to the ice with his back to the puck in hopes the shot would hit him?
Marchand speared him before the second cross check but I guess being sneaky dirty is better than standing up for yourself.

Bruins were pretty tight in their own end tonight, whereas the game in Toronto, we had a bunch of nice looks but we flubbed a lot of grade A chances. Woll didn't have a good night, but even with an average night, it still wouldn't have been enough when we can't generate chances of our own, let alone put the puck in the net.

If and when these teams meet in the playoffs, look out -- its going to be WW3 (on roids)!

SK will het bent over in the playoffs because he cant help himself but put JT with Willy and have him on PP1.
I get we have had injuries but we played our best how with JT on the third line and second PP.
Same goes for MO, the PP looked more dangerous with Lily on the point.
This team will never change as long as he is the coach and he will be the downfall of them.
Best deadline addition would be a new coach!

Trying to focus on positives after those two Boston games instead of being pissed off would be a sign of weakness. Hopefully nobody on the team is doing that.

They can't carry every single games, but that was an absolutely pathetic response to Monday.

I feel like, generally speaking, that's been the trend of this era .. particularly in recent years. The supporting cast has done well but the big guns just can't carry the team.

This organization is allergic to blaming the core. Somehow that has led to spoiled behavior, who would have thought?

It was a limp dick response to yesterday lol

The core looked weak and soft monday and uninspired and lethargic yesterday

Had monday not happened this game was a pathetic attempt at making up for even yesterday's snoozefest, let alone monday's caspar acts

Hold your horses buddy, Boston would like a say in that lol

We will never be able to kill a penalty against boston, it just won't happen, we went into those two playoff series's with above average pks and got dismantled both times. This team just cannot stop pastrnak and marchand on the pk. Those guys are just too good for our pkers to handle, meanwhile their guys are able to shut us down pretty easily

2019: 7PP goals vs 3
2018: 7PP goals vs 4

they score 1 pp goal a game against us, and this season series has been no different, infact they probably have scored more than 1 per game. We couldn't compete with them and our guys don't have a consistent higher gear, especially come game 7 which will come. We will get dismantled just like we did in 2018, 2019

Boston has us solved, they know how to play us, our "stars", the refs, and the crowd against us. We have NO answers

We can't beat boston, they just know how to beat us

McCabe showed up? What, by hulking out over nothing and costing the team a goal against in the first few minutes of the game?

I'll give you that Domi tried to respond but he's not any good at being a rat.

The most pathetic part is probably Keefe saying that he was okay with Marchand's "accidental" hit on Knies. Even whatever's left of Jeff O'Neill's hockey mind can tell that was entirely on purpose. Sadly, nobody on this team is capable of responding in kind. Reaves is supposed to be the enforcer keeping other teams honest but was as usual of no use at all. It's hard to impose yourself if nobody wants to fight you and you're too slow to catch opposing players off guard.

If only the greatest scorer in Maple Leafs history, if only the soon to be #1 paid player in the entire league had whatever it was that propelled a 5'8.5" 145lb centre the will to skate through, around and sometimes over much bigger, more skilled and sometimes better skaters that made Dave Keon the greatest of all Maple Leafs.

time to tank i told you
Doesn't do the Bud's any good when everyone else owns all your draft picks that have been fritters away by past management.

If we by some miracle win it all it's our last shot with these guys, with all those bullpuck contracts we can't even tear it down for cripes sakes!😡

Second goal certainly, but the third was on the PK and as much the defence.

Bench him? Keefe found an even worse way to punish him - made him play with J?T and Domi!

goal can be on pk or whatever thats not changing the fact the goal happrnned because he was soft. He would have leaned over and using an active stick like you should on pk, the pass never reaching geekie and this goal never happenn

Boston clearly has Woll's number, If it's Boston in round 1 Samsonov has got to be the game 1 starter
