If I was coach I would do the "tough love" thing starting tomorrow. Strip JT of captaincy and wait till off season to name successor. Put JT on 4th line. Bench Nylander for several games and see if he can learn defence from the stands. Announce all this at 8am tomorrow in hopes that either of them ask for a trade. When Shanny tries to block it all, I quit as coach right away.

Knies gets KO and core 4 does nothing, Reminds me of Florida last year.

Strange that 2 rental players have more heart than the entire team sans McCabe.

That said, prepare yourself. Nothing will change, because winning in the playoffs doesn't matter in Toronto. All that matters is having non offensive "entertainment" in the regular season to sell merch, seats, and jerseys. Expect Marner to get a contract similar to Matthews and Tavares to get a 4 year x $5 million extension next year.

I take issue with Tavares being represented here, tbh. Say what you will about his play on the ice, which admittedly hasn't been good this year, but the guy took less money to come and play here. Of the four, he's the only one who didn't milk the team for every possible cent at every possible opportunity.

I think we learnt some good stuff tonight, legitimately.

The support caat did their job. They didn't back down. They stayed aggressive and stayed in the game. That bodes well.

Looks like it is Sammy's net even though the organization looks to be wanting Woll to win the job. We got outgoalied in both games.

Edmundson needs to come in for Liljegren in the playoffs because the Bruins will target him all series and he won't stand up for himself, leading others to not only have to worry about their own game, but his too.

We need to pick up a pking forward tomorrow and remove Nylander from the PK.

We really, really, really need to sit the core 4 down in a room with Sheldon and Brad and have a conversation. We need to find out what it is that they want. What are you wanting to achieve here? What does that look like in their eyes? What do they feel the have to do in order to achieve that?

We won't go anywhere the way the four of the played in the last two games against Boston. There needs to be a clear the air talk with them. Their play is simply unacceptable given what they wanted (and what we gave them) to be paid.

If we can sort this out, we will beat the Bruins in the playoffs, I am sure of it.

They have already been givin everything. What they need to do is make a statement and sit all 4 of them in the stand at the same time for a single game. Who cares if they loose it. Let them realize that things are serious and it’s time for them to get serious

He is a despicable human being. He purposely tries to injure players. If his name was Kadri he'd miss more playoffs than he plays.

Let's hope Karma has a calendar date arranged. Ask Scott Stevens about Karma ... Stevens brought attention to the issue of concussions in the NHL. In fact, he had to retire after he was diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome.

nah there was a brief stretch we were settling in as the better team, then as quickly as that stretch came, it was lost just as fast. Marner not shooting on the empty net was pretty much bed time
