literally just typed the same exact thing above lol
ye that was good stuff, honestly i hate the whole sheepish "we played ok" stuff in interviews..i know they do it mainly because the media can turn anything into a crisis but man i miss clark and roberts and tucker and domis post game rants lol.

3 11 million dollar forwards and people bitch about "this team isn't very good offensively"

I dont think majority of the people that post on the Leafs board ever watch other teams play

Tampa Bay: 3 GP, 13 Goals
Florida: 3 GP, 11 Goals
Pittsburgh: 3 GP, 10 Goals
New York: 3 GP, 9 Goals
Colorado: 2 GP, 10 Goals
Carolina: 2 GP, 8 Goals

I'm watching really good, offensively minded teams score at will and put up all kinds of points. I expect nothing less of The Leafs!

He is 21. He is going to be good. Right now, he should not be in the NHL on a playoff team. Especially not over Dermott. Dermott brings everything Sandin brings right now with a more refined defensive game.

I think he was tired on that SH goal against, but at the same time I have no idea why they are double shifting him on the PP when you have Rielly on the bench. And he totally whiffed on that poke check on Byron. Even if you are tired and trip the guy up, at least get the puck.
I was measuring him against Rielly. I still had high hopes for Sandin. His skating just worries me.

The more I think about this game, the more I have to blame the coaching staff. Benching Galchenyuk, Engvall, and Brooks all who have played well recently. Nash didn't do squat. Thornton has been struggling for a while now. What was up with replacing Rielly with Sandin? Yeah it sucks that JT was injured, but we would have won anyway with better decisions from the coach.

To be fair, the Habs have to be the only team in the playoffs playing the trap. You rarely ever see teams doing that in 2021.

It can be his team all they want, they just lost a first line C and big offensive threat in a series where they'll need offense
And we don’t have anyone that can replace him. Who is gonna play 2C now. Kerfoot? Jumbo? Engvel? Spezza? Those guys are all barely third line centres

Listening to Foligno post game... This guys mentality is huge for the team.

We're winning the next game and the series.

I love it too... but is no one else concerned at the still fragile mental state of our core? Like fck... c'mon. Do we really need to surround them with guys like this every year? Do they absorb any of this mentality that the vets bring? It doesn't seem like it... maybe you have to achieve something to get to that mental state? I find it weak.

How much of Marner ice time was ok the PK? Almost 4 mins but yeah Nylander was more dangerous tonight and should have gotten a few more shifts.

If you plan on playing Marner in an offensive role for 24 minutes a night, and want him to be effective then perhaps don't play him another 4 minutes on the PK in addition as well.

Don't the Leafs have enough Hyman, Mikheyev, Nash and Foligno types to toss out on the PK that are not on your so call top PP unit as well?

Now can you look up who on that team is potting goals or scoing majority of the points and then compare that to teh Leafs and think whether Leafs are "keeping up"

You're not doing it 1for1, but you can hope to cover it my committee.

Need to get some leads, play our game and dictate play

at this point hes a more effective PKer than he is on the PP lol

It's hard to win on the other hand though with your captain falling like that. This playoff series will define them. No excuses anymore if they can't move past 1 round 5 years in a row. That's half a decade.

I think this game was very meh. Could of honestly went either way, unfortunate what happened to JT and the leafs just didn’t compete I think

I liked Folingo Campbell and Nylander this game.

And I think Matthews and Marner are going to eviscerate the Habs next game regardless on their own

Oh, I have no doubt that if they do not move past the first round one of Marner or Nylander are gone. They have to be... probably Rielly too.

Agree with you, no more excuses.

An utterly depressing loss. On all fronts.

What's worse is the realization that we are again up against a superior goalie and defence. Without the pushback to make goals happen.

Yet another cold lesson that the regular season is irrelevant.
