I expected Montreal's young team to come out loose, skating hard, and being aggressive. They were as advertised. A seasoned good team on the road can slow them down, steady the game, and take control.

The Leafs kind of drifted through the first two period before showing something better, and ultimately collapsing in the end.

Also Murray doesn't inspire me

We outshot them but we didn't outplay them. The intensity wasn't good enough and the loss is deserved.

Hope it's a wake up call for the team that talent isn't enough. Murray wasn't the reason we lost tonight.

This team, especially the core, has had FAR TOO MANY wake up calls! They are NOT getting any better as we all saw again tonight. New season, a few new players, however all the same shite on the ice!

I don't think Murray was horrible, but it didn't show much to inspire either. Hopefully he makes amends on Saturday.

That being said, the team in front of him was awful. Same garbage on the PP. The team looked slow and out of sync. Holl somehow continually gets worse.

But my biggest takeaway is the Muzzin is toast. His body just doesn't have it anymore. He was out there playing like a 70-year old. Seriously.

Murray had no real shot at any of the goals.

First 2 goals Caufield picked the corner
Third goal, rebound goes right to Monahan
Fourth goal, Holl did his best to make sure Murray saw none of it

Two goals he should have had. First goal he had plenty of time to come cross
Second goal he should have had easily

If anyone thinks Caufield corner is justfied, then wait until you face Ovechkin, Panarin, Pasta, Stamkos and Kucherov
Those are standard saves in today's NHL, or should be if you want to be a contending team

I’m a big Nylander fan, unlike some here, but I thought he was awful tonight as well. For all the time he skated around with the puck tonight, he didn’t make pretty much any plays.

Disagree - was robbed twice, scored, and looked dangerous all night.

Holl caused multiple odd man rushes against. Like in that last play. He was awful tonight. So was Muzzin. They’re a bad pair and we saw enough ewho I think vidence of that prior to tonight yet here we are.

Bring on Mete at least he can skate. The rest of our group with Liljegren being absent are slow as can be

We're a high event team so we're going to give up a lot of odd man rushes. But the brain cramps are inexcusable (MUZZIN). Just dump the puck out ffs.

Since we're a high event team, the goalie needs to make some big saves. Murray didn't give us that tonight. Let's hope Samsonov looks better tomorrow night.

The damage is already done. The contracts were given out, trades were made like foligno and muzzin. changing the gm and coach will likely not make the team any better, but dubas gave it his shot, he lost. Now you need a new gm who is willing to make the trades necessary.

How do you blame a goalie on a 2 on 1 when it's the goalie's job to pay the shot?

No, players don't pick corners in every game. Just look at how hard it is for players to hit 4 targets on 4 shots at the all-star game standing still with no pressure and a big target. Imagine if that target was the size of a puck and at the corner.

all 3 are bottom of the barrel nhl players were not going anywere with murray in net or witth samsonov in net were screwed with goal tending this year dubas can`t be here next season he just can`t make the right deals
