He's a career AHL'er.

We acquired a goalies in the offseason but the main one we acquired was an injury prone mess. And he got injured after 1 game.

I don't see much point in blaming Kallgren, he shouldn't be playing to begin with.

He’s a professional goaltender paid a lot of money to do a job. He’s not incapable of playing well.

I’m specifically commenting on his lack of aggressiveness in the net, and it’s a worrying trend for all goalies.

I would actually respect it if Keefe and Dubas resigned tomorrow

He will have an AHL save % that starts .90 and an NHL save% that starts .8XX

Looks like the numbers of an AHL tender.

Cause that's what he is. We acquired goalies in the offseason and one got hurt instantly.

Do you think another coach will help? I know Trotz resumé but...at what point do we point our finger at the core of players and the leadership issues?

We can't keep switching coaches every few years the boys get bored or something.

Core is fine, just overpaid. None of the "core 4" has done anything to write home about in the post season but are paid handsomely to do so. Fact is if you some how shave 6-8 million off of The core 4's salary then you could have a competent Dman back there to go along with Rielly which would go along way. Our D is suspect and as we've seen year after year, Matthews, Marner, JT, and Nylander are not good enough to outscore our deficiencies in the backend/in net.

If this trend of piss poor play continues we'll most likely see a reallocation of cap space with one of the Core 4 gone to do so.

Keep in mind he is a 3rd string goalie (Is an AHLer normally).

If he was capable of putting up consistent good numbers he'd be a regular NHLer (which he isn't - and nor is any goalie in that position)

I agree that Kalli isnt NHL calibre but I thought he played about as well as expected and actually gave us a chance to win.

Thats great, hes still young and can develop, too bad Numbnuts Dubas traded for an injury prone goaltender.

As a team should give your best D game when u got a AHL goalie in net. This performance might work with top a 5 goalie.

I like the spinoramas, not best timing but i like the confidence to try. 1 point more or less wont save the overall performance.

I think Jarnkrok will be better eventually, but this whole team seems to be dysfunctional at the moment. He was depth signing and should be held accountable, but these are the moments you're stars should carry you and steal some victories with sheer skill. Happened to us many many times, when we were in the shoes of Sharks and Habs etc.

I'd hope they'd stop talking until they can walk the walk like MacKinnon did even before winning the cup. Oozing the desire to win something and be better. No point arguing in the media about being grown men - just be like one.

Twelve more games and if there isn't any progress. I don't know, maybe do something more drastic with this team and I don't know if coaching change is enough. This isn't the season to be arrogant, this is basically make or break season for this core, coach and GM.

I think Tavares got it, but maybe he should have invited whole leadership group to his cabin last summer.

In the end just one game, but there are reasons to be worried and Jarnkrok isn't one of them. Neither is Kallgren. Our core is good enough to carry them. They shouldn't be carried by them
