Holl broke our momentum in 24 seconds cause he thought he was a forward for a moment, going in to the scrum and leaving his man WIIIIDE OPEN

Sandin has been a huge liability all season, hopefully we can replace both Holl and Sandin.
Brodie will take one of the spots but we need to grab A Murphy or Gavrikov and probably Schenn too if possible.
We have too many holes in this lineup though.
We need a top 6 LW a 3C a top 4 D and a number 5 or 6 D with bite.

Sandin is special bad. There was a play where he migrated to the net front position and kept directing teammates to cover here and there while drifting towards the corner inexplicably while they Devils exited their zone. Another play he didn't get burned on, he was on his weak side RHD position at the corner and threw a backhand 45 degree pass opposite wing with Devils in the zone. It's just so high risk, no reward stuff. Are you playing smart, or just trying to outshine out there?

Almost 20 games into the season and here’s what I think our biggest needs for improvement are:

Top 6 LW
Bottom 6 Winger, maybe 2
Top 4 Dman

We need to address at least one of these before the deadline, and probably another one on deadline day

An 11 game winning streak is exactly what I have expected from our Leafs for a couple of seasons, especially with the contracts our 'star' players demanded and received!

Again, other NHL teams are making a mockery of our overpaid and over rated Leafs.

Watch the Sabres do the same on Saturday night.

I switched and watched the TB PP, which we’ve all seen, and somehow Kuch and Stamkos can get wide open and score off quick, crisp passes.

Apart from Benn, the only bodychecks in our own zone all night were from JT and Matthews. This is insane...

But the depth falls off a cliff after those 4 players. Matthews needs to be better for sure, but another weapon wouldn't hurt.

What game were you watching? He was the reason we even had a chance to get an undeserved point out of that game. He was excellent!

Didn't feel they were much better. They attacked with more speed and popped more but we held onto the puck and did a lot of the possession stuff they like to do. Almost felt like a playoff game where we traded offensive ability for defensive coverage and just short circuited.

The special teams PP is so bad though. That incompetence is going to burn this team if they don't stop the Half Asleep Globetrotter nonsense.

*JT...at the end of the 3rd I'd have written 'solid game' many things done right. Then...
*Sandin in the 2nd, the best I've seen him this year. Hope he can build on that.
*Nylander is playing the best hockey of his career.
*Matthews isn't.
*Kamph is a steal at 1.5.
*Bunting's play has picked up.

*Enough with Pierre Engvall, he just doesn't get it.
*I feel badly for Kerfoot, a decent player, but his efforts are bringing no rewards.
*NJ has an exciting young team. Not having our two top Dmen in our own zone , this was always going to be a difficult game.

*If they can remain healthy, Murray/Samsonov are offering us some hope.
*Play Robertson or send him down to develop, sitting him is doing us no good.
*A 3C who can help ignite some offense from our 3rd line is needed.

He's playing without any confidence, but also like he's trying to prove he still has confidence. Like he's not making any clean, high quality plays with consistency. But he is throwing in the frequent high risk, low reward gambit for some reason.

I undersand the defense has been weakened by injuries and you don't want to erode Sandin's confidence any further, but he's also not a make a wish kid. Mete and Kral looked passable, let them play and give Sandin a break. You can't play your way out of a slump by sucking every night anyway

We had no business getting a point let alone winning it. We were not awful tonight but our offensive execution was very poor. I think NJ had more grade A chances than us in the 3rd.

6 million in cap for kerfoot and engvall is a problem through the 1st 17 games. i hate engvall because he does nothing when he isnt scoring, which he doesnt do much of. but kerfoot has been even worse this year.

I don’t have any data to back this up, but the leafs might be the worst team in the league in OT.

For a team that is all about puck possession, come overtime they can’t seem to keep the puck for more than 3 seconds.
