Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose in Game 7. Again.

It is so f***ing crazy we havnt won a playoff series since 2004. When you look at some of the roster’s we have had in that time it is f***ing unbelieveable that none of those teams were able to get it done.

Both team’s top lines were mostly neutralized.
That happens in the playoffs.
The difference is the depth players and the leafs don’t have the cap room to get what is needed.
For me, they have to find a way to get rid of Tavares’ contract.
Whatever it takes.
Depth was there and they have some low cost options to promote who have offensive potential

Tavares also buried some key goals throughout the series and was robbed of one tonight

Fed up this team, no matter home ice advantage or not, they lose game 7.
They can't take advantage of home ice advantage.
Fxxk
For some reason, they just keep on forgetting how to score in game 7, they were shutout last year and shutout the year before that and had one goal against the B's before that. But this year with Matthews being a 60-goal man and Marner and Nylander getting their scoring touch, I didn't think that would be the problem again. And to top that all off, look who they allow to score 2 goals against them, a 4th liner who never scored a playoff goal before.

This fanbase would run Wilson outta town. They hate tough players.

More Alex Kerfoot's please.
Oh, yeah, that's clearly why Clifford and Simmonds are on the roster. Because everyone hates physical players so much...

Bruins fan coming in peace also feeling the loss today. My Dad is a huge fan and he is in the hospital without a TV so I was calling and playing the game over the phone for him.

We shared our painful losses and also ending up saying something I thought I should post here:

'If John Tavares signed in Boston instead of Toronto both teams advance tonight.' Bruins have a C they missed and Leafs have a D or two to get them over the hump.

It's coming guys. We had the Philly comeback in 2010 before the Cup in 2011. It's coming.

Well, it wasn't completely closed. Yeah, Gilmour and Andreychuk were slowing down, but they just traded for Sundin that offseason, and they had Gardner and a few other useful pieces. But then Fletcher decides only experienced veterans can get them over the hump, and ugh...
I'd classify the Sundin trade as trying to get them over the hump

I'm titillated about the notion of a Nylander for Wilson trade. On first glance it looks like a loss, but Wilson is only 2 years older and $2 mil/year cheaper.

19 playoff games. 2 goals 2 assists. Both of those goals came in the same game
Only because Engvall felt so bad for him and passed it to Mika

Really dont' know why Leafs nation loves this guy so much.

Kampf, same thing. Where was he tonight? or game 6? He should be the 4th liner

Engvall sucked too

Our 3rd line was the difference

and F U Keefe for not stacking the line. Having a love affair with Bunting

I would trade Nylander

He's too damn soft in the playoffs. He does not compete at all. So many plays where he tried to avoid getting hit.
You think we have a hard enough time scoring goals in the playoffs wait until you trade the forward who has been our best playoff performer over the last 2 seasons.

Until the fans stop showing up NOTHING will change. The cash register keeps on chachinging. Hate Montreal but when they blow for an extended period they get 12,000 fans in attendance,,, that is a real clear message to the management. Larry Tanenbaum could give 2 shits he is making bank win or lose you the fans need to send a message no more tickets, no more shirts no more merch call me when you are competitive, See ya

The Bruins in 2013 was heartbreaking, the Bluejackets was heartbreaking, the Habs was heartbreaking.

This was a damn good playoff series. Im not going to overreact to that.

It was good, it wasn't good enough..........the last 4 playoffs/playins they haven't been good enough and have been beaten the same way.

They need a new approach.....I don't mean scorched earth, but they need a new coach and a new style that can win when it's for all the marbles.

0-9 (?) in games where they could end a series........it's not a coincidence or just bad luck. It's a fatal flaw that needs to be corrected

I don't agree in the D comment, but I do wish your Dad all the best and think Tavares would have been a great fit with the Bs

They keep tinkering, but it never worked out. Yes, you're right, they played much better here but still not good enough. Why couldn't they play like this last year against MTL or against CBJ in the bubble? Good chance they may get the Lightning again next year.
So who goes Nylander? How do you replace his output? Trade Marner? How do you replace a top 10 guy in the NHL.

Your only option is to tinker with edges and hopefully you find the right combo or the cap goes up
