Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose in Game 7. Again.

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Both team’s top lines were mostly neutralized.
That happens in the playoffs.
The difference is the depth players and the leafs don’t have the cap room to get what is needed.
For me, they have to find a way to get rid of Tavares’ contract.
Whatever it takes.

I would trade Nylander

He's too damn soft in the playoffs. He does not compete at all. So many plays where he tried to avoid getting hit.
The real issue is theres about 35million tied up in three players who, during clutch time, are below PPG combined.

Nylander though will likely be the unfortunate piece moved to make a shakeup; could see him involved for Chychrun

Fair enough man, I didn’t see a pull up tonite, I saw zone entries and a talented player controlling the puck in the offensive zone better than anybody else except for maybe Marner. He’s no scrapper or forechecker, you play elite offensive puckhandlers with fore checkers, but sure trade him and use that 7 million on Deslauriers and another useless tit, heck give Wayne train a raise, He’d never pull up, he’d never get there in time to be effective but hed show he cares!
He is talented, but you can’t win when a few guys don’t pull their weight.

Engvall is another one that you don’t even attempt to bring back. He treats the puck like it’s a hand grenade and is useless in a playoff game.

I find it insane that people want to run this same group of losers out there again. Six straight years of embarrassment. They tried hard though, so they get a cup for that?

No one is saying it needs to be the same group - but blowing it up entirely just to do something is nuts and won't happen.

Yep - the Wild played the game the right way, 100% speed, skill, balls out. Active at the deadline. Probably the 2nd best team in the West. And they got to play probably the 3rd best, battle hardened team as a reward.
And now they're going to have to dismantle their team because of buyouts.

who is going to find and post the first pic on Instagram of the boys water skiing at the cottage tomorrow?

Great team great effort. Wish the higher ups would pot the same amount of pressure on the media and NHHL/PA part. Cut money and support. Harm anti Toronto allegiances like the zebra faction.
Let them earn their money with Florida or Texas Batman interests. Funny how Canadian money is cheap yet needed.

Let those poor American teams pay. And please ... please exclude GTA players from Toronto events while they are enjoying their golfing habitats in the sunny south. Might as well call them Trump Canadians. Go - go Steven Stamkos ... you sure were the reason for winning gold in 2010, you hang-along. Like the Toronto area - I DONT LIKE YOU. BIGOT.

I can’t feel anything anymore.

Voice gone.

f*** everything

What did we as fans do to deserve such f***ing torture?

That Russian kid had an insane series too. But it just shows you that defense wins championships, not offense.

The best part is you would think the core has been to the Stanley Cup finals multiple times and can't get the job done.

These guys can't even win a round.

The audacity to show faith in this weak-hearted core whether it's the management, fans, or media is hilarious.

  • Turtling in Game 6 in the 3rd period
  • No adjustments on PP
  • Liljegren out for the braindead Holl
  • Did not break Matthews-Marner even they did not have anything going offensively
  • Did not stack a line down a goal
  • Lost to Tampa with Point out injured
  • 50% of cap wasted on 4 players no offense
  • NOT SHOWING UP in Games 2 and Game 4

Can't make this shit up. Dubas and Keefe are GARBGE! Period!

When does Shanahan, the architect of this "masterpiece" get some blame? He signed off on this shit show??

Sucks like the rest of the 1st round exits but at least this one I don't feel bad about how they played.

The core showed up and battled. Soup gave us good enough goaltending to win.

Blowing up the core is a step backward. Tinkering around the edges and hopefully finding the right mix.

Guys like Kerfoot need to move out for a power forward who can play on the Tavares line and create space and finish. A Hyman type for JT and Willy would be a huge get.

Holl can be moved no need for him anymore.

Simmons, Clifford can move on or be 14th forwards.

Stings as usual but they threw everything at the 2x Cup champs

They keep tinkering, but it never worked out. Yes, you're right, they played much better here but still not good enough. Why couldn't they play like this last year against MTL or against CBJ in the bubble? Good chance they may get the Lightning again next year.

I don’t think they fire Dubas or Keefe. I would bring them back. I think we will see a trade and I think it willl be Nylander to help with the salary cap allocation. Maybe they use it for better depth or goalie I don’t know but feel Nylander will be traded.
Knowing Dubas he would give the entire cap savings to Jack Campbell this team is so frustrating no alfa males any where at all

And at the same time, that teams window had closed, so I get trying to push through.
Well, it wasn't completely closed. Yeah, Gilmour and Andreychuk were slowing down, but they just traded for Sundin that offseason, and they had Gardner and a few other useful pieces. But then Fletcher decides only experienced veterans can get them over the hump, and ugh...

Probably the asset management would be wiiling to trade that we could get the best or type of return this team needs.
