I have no problem with JT, and other than Nylander has been our best player this season imo. I also have no problem with JT being the captain. He represents the team well.

However, the captain was always 44. That was a miss by the previous regime.

It’s not ‘random’. Marchand took Lilly out, maybe long term. Might have broken his leg or ankle.

You make someone pay for that. Every team does. This team won’t even facewash the guy, no scrum after the play, no putting reaves out the next shift.

That's the thing. Literally the first thing I knew about this sport was, if something like that happens in a game, you're being punched. You have to answer for it. Whether it's an accident or not. You have to answer for it.

We have somehow managed to find 20 players, as a collective group, that won't make you pay for something. Do you know how extremely inconceivable by the numbers that is? 5, 7, 8, ok i get that. But 20? How have we managed that?

This team has to stop allowing opponents to take liberties and do nothing about. I want them to win always but they need to stand up for each other sometimes more. Prove that they can and fight back and not worry about the win once at least.

Speculative and probably not even true. I think they care about each other. But clearly this is either a coach directive or coming from up top, do not take the instigator penalty or react.

Kampf needs to be on the 4th line, he has no offence. The 3rd line provides no offence at all and we need them too. Domi maybe should get a shot at centre with Knies and maybe Holmberge or Robertson, not many options for the other side unfortunately

The high point of the game for me took place in OT. William Nylander tossing Pasta to the ice with intent. Ya, that William Nylander. The only time in the game where a Leaf said FY!

If the team is going to let Marchand 'Marchand' then what's the point? People here bitching about Keefe when the players don't give a rat's ass about looking after their own...I don't get it. I hate, I mean really hate, stupid goon hockey. But I know that a team needs to take care of their own, and this team can't/won't do that. It's not on the coach. It's on the players. Always has been, always will.

Why is our ever so exciting, uber outgoing Captain of the f***ing team not going to talk to Marchand. Does Tavares even take pride in his position? Marchand isn't obviously going to fight Reeves. Why isn't Tavares showing the rest of the team that it does actually matter?

Take Knies as an example. Rookie, played a few playoff games, contributed to winning a round for the first time in forever.

Gets slammed by Bennett and........ nothing.

How do you think Knies feels after that shit. He's like, f***, I'm on my own here. Another thing for him to worry about as he tries to get his footing in the league.

And you put reaves out after a dirty play

I miss the NHL of the 70s when each team had one, maybe two players who WOULDN'T drop the gloves vs. today where 99% of the players won't because they're all union buddies.
They might not have been as skilled, fast, etc. as today's NHL but man, they had way more pride in their jobs.

Who would fight him, and why? He can't catch anyone to make a big hit. There is a reason why he is barely an NHL regular and is constantly traded and moved. People want the boogeyman until they realize he just isn't an NHL player.

He is here to make the other team pay a price for taking cheap shots at our players.

We had that happen tonight and Keefe didn’t immediately line reaves up with Marchand.

But why would Marchand even fathom going head to head with Reeves? Unless you want Reeves to take cheap shots at Marchand, which Reeves has never done.
