As a moderate hockey fan, you don't like seeing someone bulllying mathews. Great job leafs. Even though the game was over it was still entertaining to watch when there are some nastiness and a good old school fight. I'll be tuning into some more leaf games for sure.

Feels like it makes more sense that here. Nothing against Clifford but we nee Clifford from 5 years ago and I'm sure he'd love to finish up in LA.
It's funny because, Kyle Clifford was good in the Cup years. Obviously the coach trusted him enough to be on the ice and get the assist on a double OT Cup clincher but he honestly played his best hockey his last two seasons in LA.

Just win Tuesday and Thursday and this is fine… just a slight bump nothing major

I don't think this one is going to hurt the boys to bad

They had each other's backs and that can only good for the dressing room in the long run and should keep the lads engaged

No more bus rides halfway up to the Arctic ####### circle wouldn't be a bad idea However

True. Haven't seen a game with this Leafs era where they stood up like that against an opponent.

Their response seems like it could bring them together more .. They clearly valued standing up for their teammate over coming back in the game.

Muzzin clearly high sticked in the corner when it was 2-1. Not sure how they missed it as the puck was there. They scored a few mins later. Regardless haven’t seen the Leafs give up that many odd man rushes in a few years. More often than not Muzzin was on the ice.

Thought it was strange they started Woll tonight. He has been injured for a bit now. Still didn’t look healthy most of the night. He simply isn’t near good enough to play hurt.

Wayne Simmonds is 6'3" and listed at 180 pounds. Logan Stanley is 6'7" and 230 pounds. The fact that the refs would act like it was a 10 alarm fire and try to break up that fight to protect Stanley is... weird.
Bettman and his American hockey mafia are eliminating honest fighting. Kinda crazy eh? The hypocrisy of the most violent culture on earth just slays me.

Pretty exciting finish to this one. Pionk taking out Rasmus really got the juices flowing. Simmonds was a mad man. You have to love seeing that push back. Good on Clifford for fighting as well. Spezza is really the only one to get Pionk, but even he got him pretty good. I agree that we could have seen more from Ritchie. Simmonds managed to find Stanley twice and Clifford found a partner in Dillon. Ritchie should have taken an instigator, he did rough up Dubois and Lowry and they both turned him down, he also landed a pretty good body check on Lowry and Lowry just got off the ice. So, while he should have been more aggressive, he did provide some push back as well. That one was intense.

Kyle Clifford and Wayne Simmonds are some of my all-time favorite Kings. Happy to see them both kicking ass with you guys.

we definitely are loving on simmonds and clifford still isn't as spicy as he was the previous time but he's good

Its honestly not even the speed or skill, he's surprisingly competent with the puck for what he is, but he's been a huge disappointment physically. All his hits look like they're happening in slow motion and the defense doesn't play scared around him.

Oh, is it part of **the code** that prevented Matthews from getting mugged by Dubois or Sandin from getting injured?

If he wanted to respond in kind, it didn't work.

I would like to see Matthews stick up for himself a little more in a situation like that. The other guy is also a skill player and the same size as you. Give it right back, twice as hard. See how he likes it.

82 games in a regular season, I'd be willing to lose one to show the opposition you can't go out of your way to hurt our skill guys

Being bullied is also extremely bad for a teams psyche

Getting back to normal hockey observations for a second. I notice Muzzin has this annoying tendency to look for the snap shot whenever he has a look and he does that little flamingo kick out. It almost seems like he's playing those opportunities a little too casually, always bugged me for some reason.

Tbh he was never a huge hitter even in his "prime" LA days. He's more so a "I'm not gonna take your shit and don't mess with my teammates" type of player.

That I would agree with, but you know if Matthews gives him a shot back he's getting an extra penalty. But fine, whatever, take it if that's the only other choice.
