Meh. A lot of effect seeking there. A bunch of those goaltenders barely saw ice time for the Leafs.

@mirtle: The Leafs have 12 wins in their last 61 games going back to last season!

And yet somehow we can't manage to get a franchise player or even draft top 2.
We even suck at sucking.

Not really a surprise when the core of crap from last season is still on this team. At least this season will hopefully bring a top 3 pick and burns through another year of that core's horrible contracts.

Well at least the Leafs won't be forced into overpaying Bernier on a contract at the end of this year

When a team has been put together to tank you are 100% correct that this is what happens but when a team is put together to grow with young talent in key roles this doesn't happen you know why?

It's the same reason why armies across the globe send 18 year olds on the front lines and not married family men with kids.

It's amazing around here how so many are scared to go young thinking that losing will hurt young talented players. We're tanking not rebuilding so people can just stop this hysteria about goaltending or the players. This is what management wants so we have a choice right now as fans. Watch the games to enjoy the other teams playing against us to fill the void of "LOVE OF THE GAME" or don't watch at all because until the Leafs start to develop young talent IN THE NHL nothing is going to change.

I cannot agree more. If a young kid like Nylander or Brown are better than the players that are on the nhl team then they should be playing up. 1. They'll be learning from the best coach in the world. 2. They'll be growing together playing against the best players in the world. 3. What kind of culture will they find when they reach the nhl, a losing one. If you're going to put an inferior product on the ice deliberately then lower the damn prices, it's not fair to your fans.

Good, another loss. The season continues.

Have to say it really is something starting out the season just losing this constantly instead of trying to catch up half way through it :).

Anyways....well tough to win when you don't score. Beriner should have had some of those, but letting in any would have been the same result. Few moments I thought Rielly might get something done, though nothing actually happened. Some chances. Just move onto the next game.

All Bernier had to do tonight was get a shutout and score a goal. No one should be blaming Shanahan, Lamorello, Babcock or the team. Only Bernier and Reimer. They are to blame.....not the Leaf brass deciding to tank. We all know that.

hahahahha

It's funny but Kessel really should have had a short tribute, he was the best player on the team for 6 years... it's not his fault the team around him was ****. I loved Kessel when he was here and wish him the best in Pitts.

Babcock needs to be careful. There's nothing he can do and they're only 10 games into the season. Putting too much on yourself or on the players this early will make things real ugly real quick.

Just trying to take some of the pressure off the players. The players I'm sure take notice and respect that. Good move by him.

Worst attempt at grasping at straws I've ever seen. Why the **** would they even bother naming goaltenders that didn't even get a chance to play a consistent season? (Tellqvist, Rynnas, Aubin, Pogge, MacDonald, MacIntyre). Just terrible.

Just trying to take some of the pressure off the players. The players I'm sure take notice and respect that. Good move by him.

It is a good thing, but it's also something that can be twisted by the inevitable anti-Babcock crowd to make it appear that losing games is his fault, if people ever start turning on him.

just checked Kijiji and couldn't believe sellers are still trying to fleece buyers with above face value ticket prices. The skill on this team is the equivalent of a top AHL team or a borderline NHL team. It's like walking into a dealership and paying Mercedes Benz money for a Toyota Prius. Meanwhile you can catch a Marlies game and sit right at the glass for $50.
