Puck is round so it may have been over the line on the ice. Ron showed a clearer image on TV. Doubt they call it a goal unless they have undisputed evidence.
It was called a goal on the ice so they have to have undisputed evidence that it wasn't.
We haven't seen any undisputed evidence.

When Mats Sundin was captain people would be calling him out if the team lost in OT. When are people gonna start calling out this teams captain, for a shitty performance like this. Instead we call out our best player in this year's game one. LAUGH OUT VERY LOUD.....

that JT sucks is well established. but with marner his fanboys will pull up that assist in the third period with the team down by a touchdown to defend him.

So you are inferring it wasn't and the whole team decided to ignore it from the first minute?

I am saying the players didn't show up in the first 10, the coach didn't instruct them to avoid contact. They couldn't string together two passes and got caught chasing multiple times because of it. The players played like trash to start that game.

Luckily, they showed that they can dominate if they play well, so I am not overly concerned YET, but it was a very disappointing game and I am putting full blame on the players from the net out.

What does the puck being round have to do with anything? You can clearly see the top of the puck above the green line, which goes along the goal line. The NHL saw white and called a goal without apparently realizing that snow exists in hockey and double checking.

I'd like to welcome you to the NHL.

I actually thought it was a good call because I thought for sure it was goalie interference. The only reason the puck went in is because a stick pushed his pad, there's no other reason a goalies pad would move backwards like that. I thought the call would be reversed 100%.
Goalie interference is an essential coin toss at the best of times.
I suppose Keefe felt the 5th goal was the "killer" and the risk/reward of taking a shot of it being called back was worth it. I doubt the wisdom of challenging a goal that has already been reviewed (albeit for a different reason) and even if he won, they are still on the 5v4 PK.

Either way, it wasn't his worst decision of the game.

I agree with all of this except the JT thing. He might be a PPG player, but in the playoffs, we will get outplayed and outscored with him at center. He's a defensive liability and is slow as hell. He needs to be shielded. With the home ice advantage, Keefe can put him at center with Marner at wing and give him the easier matchups.
In TB, they will target him just like they did last year.

Nylander never should have been with JT though. Whether he's at wing or center doesn't matter. Those two don't play well together.

Keefe really screwed that game up.
Fair enough.

You are basing your opinion on a picture we grabbed off the internet and a line you drew. Perhaps the league has better evidence ?? They have the ability to zoom in but yeah the league does do strange things.

I said it before, Keefe needed to focus on building a line with O’Reilly and Marner that can go up against Tampa’s top line yet go from defence to offence on a switch.

Kerfoot - O’Reilly - Marner
Jarnkrok - Matthews - Nylander
Bunting - Tavares - Lafferty
Aston Reese - Kampf - Acciari

McCabe - Brodie
Rielly - Liljegren
Giordano - Holl

The lines I would have preferred. Instead of Keefe spent the last month going with a 11-7 format only to just completely ruin any line chemistry there was.

Even the last few games we won, we got outplayed and outshot in all of them. The trend clearly continued into game one of the playoffs minus the W.

We have Knies coming in book it.
He played well with Willy.
Start with
(1) Knies, O'Reilly, Willy

Bunting is a bit of an asshat so if he isnt suspended, move him to replace ZAR
(2) Bunting, Kampf, Lafferty

if he is suspended, leave that line alone
(2) ZAR, Kampf, Lafferty

Leave
(3) Kerfoot, Acciari, Jarnkrok

that leaves
(4) Tavares, Matthews, Marner

Tavares can be an alternative feed for Marner and could crowd the net for Papi's shots.

Imagine having Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, O'Reilly at your disposal up front and you start the 1st game of the playoffs on home ice with your checking 4th line.
Makes no sense at all. If I'm Dubas I'm blasting Keefe after that game. Dubas may very well get fired by MLSE as well, but there will be lots of interest in him from other teams. Keefe won't have the same interest.

Imagine listing off 3 of the players who started the game to try and bad mouth the coach and then making up that another line started.

I just want these conclusive views to be available to us... seems simple.

If the NHL has evidence, why wouldn't they publicly release it? I'm not sure how zoom moves the puck across the line.

Poulin commented on how 6'3" Holl could allow Perry to skate between him and the post without being physical, in the second minute of the game, leading to Tampa's first goal. It is something.
It is interesting how Nylander got racked over the coals last year for backing out on a physical encounter in the corner that while a bad look....was mostly meaningless. Meanwhile 6'3 Justin Holl gives Perry a stick wave and a pass to the front of the net and it is a goal lol

The 1st 2 goals were just not covering the front of the net. You allow the 2nd and 3rd chances and it's going in your net. Look at how well Tampa covered for Vasi. Not many 2nd and 3rd chances wide open in front. 1st goal Holl is thinking about his grocery list and letting Perry just skate from behind the net to in front. Then he fails to make it hard on Bellmare to get the rebound.

Well the good news is, we either win the series or there will be big changes. There is no chance the current squad/management will be given another kick at the can. If the Leafs lose, I guarantee you the following are gone:

Keefe, Dubas

And whoever is our GM may very well consider trading one of the "big 4"

I also honestly wouldn't be opposed to trading Morgan Rielly.

Let's see how it goes but I'm already mentally preparing for the series loss.

Throw Knies on the Tavares line and I want to see them run that out tomorrow.
