Well …the grit is nice but we are worse defensively and out gritty defencemen can’t make a pass it seems and are molasses slow.

Once again we can’t score either

Not a good start

Oh well….lets hope we come out flying the next game

well it seems I am in the minority but it looked to me like the Leafs and Bruins were equally matched and actually in my opinion I would give the edge in play to the Leafs...I thought the Leafs were pushing pretty hard and deserved a better result, but luck is a part of the game...However the Bruins goalie seemed to almost always have his bodyparts in the right place at the right time...hopefully the Leafs won't get discouraged and just keep pushing.

I would tend to agree with you. Where the teams differed last night is Boston didn't make mistakes, they had detail in their game, when Toronto made mistakes they capitalized on them. Take a look at the Boston goals, they are perfect shots, like absolutely threading a needle, except for the Debrusk PP goal. The Leafs are far too lose/undisciplined in their game, that is quite simply bad coaching, repetitively teaching the right way to play the game, is not done here. When the Leafs had that infrequent spurt of pressure in the B's zone, the B's relatively easily, stopped that pressure and were able to get the puck out of their zone. Sustained pressure is something the Leafs need 10x in their next game.

Swayman was perfect, he was in the right place at the right time but that is why you pay 4 players 10+ mil (Nylander next year), Those type of players are supposed to expose seams / weaknesses to make Swayman get out of position. We got playoff goalied again for the billionth time, that is system related.

Marner was a zero, Matty was a big old zero, JT zero.

Domi all though a bad PIM , understands that if you are not scoring, you better be hurting.

End of the day I thought this would go 4 and so far that prediction is bang on.

I'm actually ok with the result. I always felt this was a throwaway year. Anything positive that happens these playoffs is just gravy.
Wait. Throwaway to rebuild? Next year has to be another throwaway year too no?

2026 is our year?

Considering Nylander is always at practice and optional skates and even putting in extra time for him to not even be on the ice means something’s up.

Pure speculation, Keefe said that Nylander quit the last two weeks of the season and then he is a ghost for the playoffs? My guess is he is being disciplined. Even injured guys are in the press box watching the game. He's no where to be seen.

Very unlikely they’re holding him out of a playoff game for discipline.

Only players that know they aren’t playing anytime soon are in the box. If you’re newly injured or rehabbing they’d be in the room with the trainers not sitting in the box waiting.

Your right that it wasn’t the Bruins top guys scoring but the reason is that they didn’t spend 50% of their cap on 4 soft similar forwards and spread it around building a better balanced team.
Winner winner chicken dinner…….

we need some of that EvilHomer positivity lol
He said goaltending wouldn’t be a factor in the series, so he’s wrong again………

Gut the whole thing, please.
How do they move the players with NMC’s? This fiasco has no quick fixes like Babcock said “there will be pain”, but who actually thought he meant going on close to a decade of pain?

Swear, if that guys gambles, he's gonna be bloody homeless soon.
He needs to adopt the George Costanza theory that if everything I say is wrong the exact opposite is right………

Kinda wish we could send the Leafs organizatiton over to Utah and start fresh with the Coyote liquidation sale here in Toronto.
Want a winner in Toronto? Start lobbying for a second NHL team because this organization is cursed with incompetence form top to bottom……..

I'm pretty tired of the excuses. The problem is staring at us directly in the face and we refuse to acknowledge it.

I cannot believe people watched that game and are saying with a straight face 11M player X had a good game and a different coach would've won us the game.

What is it about this team that makes them just addicted to embarrassing themselves?
Shanahan and Keefe come to mind! 😉

Garbage team.

Tired of people pumping these guys up for regular season stats. It's embarrassing. Bad coaching, terrible goaltending, and the stars are nowhere to be seen.

Shanny and company are bozos for dragging this coach and core for so many years.
I’ve been saying that for awhile now. It’s long overdue, Shanny needs to go!

I think Quenneville and Trotz would have got different results. Can't argue that our 1st/2nd line cost us the game.

haha... honestly, I think TOR was dumb/needlessly anxious/too obsessed with hitting and being tough.

BOS took advantage of what they gave them. The first goal was on a two-on-one that really shouldn't have happened.

Then a goal on a shot that perhaps should have been stopped.

Then two PP goals on stupid and pointless penalties.

Then an EN goal.

BOS' goaltending was better (no surprise there). TOR needs to cut down on the mistakes and needs their stars to put some damn goals on the board. BOS isn't anything great. If TOR can't put these losers in their place, another team will do it without too much difficulty.
I mean when you look at their roster, that thought does come to mind. But then again, I counted them out the last few years and look how that turned out. They have veteran leadership, a winning culture, great coaching, and great goal tending.

Mattys line played an even steven game and we needed it to dominate and score .. lines 2 and 3 got tilted all game long da Bruins were much faster and structurally strong in half ice trap game .. line 4 broke trap with a good dunp and forcheck game and tilted ice somewhat .. bottom line we need willy and mccann back with holmgren to create a 2nd line otherwise this one is done .. robertson and knies look like babies playing pro hockey .. jt and marner cant skate at playoff pace so put jarnkrok with them on a 3rd line and limit their minutes .. marner can play pp and pk as he can handle game at either end of ice when game slows down and ice gets smaller .. keefer knows all this yet he is scared for his job i guess .. folks drive down to boston and watch game it is vwry obvious .. leafs are not fast enough to beat bruins half ice game with 2 of their 4 lines .. our D needs to play a lot more physicall too .. they need to punish bruins net front .. it was too easy for bruins to take our net .. sammy gave up 1 bad goal too which was freddys problem .. we cant give up a stinker like that one .. da other 3 goals were kill zone bang bang chances with terribke D .. d needs to simplfy game and not make cute plays .. play strong use boards and glass and exit high and hard .. lines 2 and 3 cant skate with Bruins so our D cant play keefers stupid system .. but biggest problem is keefer he cant see and understand what is going on in game and make needed adjustments .. he is like shanny a c or d student .. sad situation here all around .. and where is rielly from last years playoffs????????? omg completely useless in every respect last night ... captain morgan do you need another scolding from your mom

This team reminds me of the mid 2000s CBJ, they had a regular season superstar and nothing else, came playoff time the first line was shutdown by the other team and they got no other lines to contribute anything.
What a comparison. Lol. One of the worst franchises in the league in terms of playoff appearances. Maybe you're referring to the 08-09 CBJ?

Rick Nash and a bunch of hacks.

So far our leading scorer is Kampf. Lol.

What exactly happened to Nylander?

Is he pulling a Freddie Andersen and just not feeling like playing?
I don’t know where you would ever get that idea. Nylander has been one of our best playoff performers for the past few years.

And give it to who exactly? 34? The guy who was completely invisible? 16? Another ghost.
You sure? Marner was all over the place.

The $10+ mm players were closer to being a liability than being good.

I thought the game was closer than the score... regardless it is 1-0, the score doesn't matter.

Goaltending in this series concerns me. Swayman/Ullmark can steal games, our goalies can help lose games.

Also thought the officiating was trash, but also not why we lost.
Gotta’ hope that the Samsonov from round 1 last year shows up. But I’m not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.
