We can’t be mad
Did everyone here not expect this?
Goal for this season is to fire shanahan and keefe, maybe Tre lol

Average coaching
Average to bad goalies, still no #1
Average defence
Overpaid no offence in playoffs with shit secondary

This is a copy and paste for many years now

Does no one in hockey know how fix this?

Yeah, either 1) we miraculously come back and win this series or 2) massive changes happen or 3) I find other hobbies….. I guess it’s all good

The team had 2 lines that were remotely offensive tonight, and one of them had Reaves on it lol. Hopefully Willy is good to go for game 2 and we can start generating some goals.

They matched the Bruins physically. The Leafs just need to show they want to win.

Curious who Keefe turns to in net for game 2. I'm guessing Sammy is up again

What if, like every other year, we fail miserably and then just keep doing the same thing?
I just pray that the report that surfaced is true, and that if we flame out hard. Big changes were promised.

We can't keep running it back, we simply cannot. If we fail, it's time for a new adventure. A new man at the helm, and a different focus than 4 forwards making 40+ million.

lost 8 straight to the Bruins now.

all those people who thought we'd be fine against the Bruins are ludicrous.

We WILL be fine and this will be a series. I personally always put an asterisk on that being that we receive at least average level goaltending.

Not going to go so far as assume we win the series but we’ve lost one game on the road. The sky is not falling yet.

There are no moral victories here, a loss is a loss, but the play in this game was close despite what the final score indicates. Gotta score more goals, but we also need some saves. Samsonov was beaten like 8 or 9 times tonight and we really didn’t give up that much.

Need more out of our guns. I thought marner was dancing at times. I thought Matthews had his chances and was easily our most noticeable forward, but we needed more from JT and Rielly especially and we missed Willy. Hopefully he’s back Monday.

Domi penalty was dumb. And there were some coaching versions made that were more than a little suspect

If you have the most powerful engine in the world, but the connection between the transmission and the wheels is severed, it won't do you a lick of good now will it?

I think the strength of our engine is starting to look quite overrated.

We can blame everyone else, the coaches, the other goalie for consistently stoning us but at some point we might need to accept that this core isn't as good as we think or as a collective they just don't fit well especially when playoff hockey is much different then regular season hockey.

Well it was expected. Seems like its been the case in the playoffs for a long time now where the Leafs best players can't score. I've said it a long time ago how on paper the Leafs should be fine offensively especially when they spend so much on their stars and yet when its time to play the games on the ice, they just can't get the job done.

I just hope they wake up and get going otherwise its time to blow things up in a major way.

Based on this team's history what on earth could possibly make you believe that firing everyone and starting over will bring any different result?

If I was a betting man I'd wager the next group that comes in to run this team will do even worse.

But that's for later. Right now, yes, this team can come back and win this series but there's no one on planet earth that believes they're built for a deep run. Not even close. At best they beat Boston in 6 or 7 only to get dumped in 5 again by either Florida or Tampa.
Never said everyone, you keep the greatest goal scorer of this generation.

Everybody else is on the chopping block.

And nothing can be worse than one 2nd round appearance with this amount of salary spent in like what, 7 years? 8?

Time for changes if we fail yet again, trying the same method over and over and over and over again.

Firing Keefe isn't enough

Tavares can't f***ing skate. he had ZERO shots in teh game Leafs were trailing since 1st period; and looked like an absolute PYLON both on PP and Even Strength

Marner gives up the play as soon as he sees hit coming

Rielly can't do F all

I'd be so f***ing mad if Treliving had thrown away our 1st rounder this season

My wish for the playoffs is:
- Give young kids as much exposure as possible to playoff hockey
- Do not feed minutes to has beens like Tavares
- Go as deep as possible (I know we ain't winning the cup this season)
- We are not re-signing Brodie or Gio no need to play them. Expose Liljegren, Beniot, McCabe (and may be Timmins (?); to playoff hockey with as much minutes as possible let them gain experience

if it was u to me I'd healthy scratch Tavares

They’ve been outplayed in 9 of 12 playoff games.

They’re going backwards.
