The broadcast chooses their own stars, so it's not "official"
yeah I know this, I just couldn't figure out how in the world they settled on Kerfoot last night, Mitch was driving that first line and produced tons of chances, can't wait till Matty gets healthy

This is getting f***in' insane

Yes, it's not Andersen's fault because the Leafs should just score 5+ goals.
I do think this team and offense is capable of putting up a 6+ goal night to overcome the goaltending we've got and I'm a little surprised/disappointed it hasn't happened. Better finish and that was last night.

Still, can't point the finger for real "blame" anywhere but the net lately

Doesn't matter how much the leafs outplay their opponents. With the level freddy is playing, no team can overcome that routinely.

Goaltending is their biggest issue by a landslide

I would like to see more point shots make it to the net. Leafs have a hard time generating chances from the point.

Keep it a little more simple on the offence and not put on a passing clinic with no shot on net.

The team was great defensively, anytime you allow 18 shots for an entire game.

That is what they call in the business winning the analytics department, but losing the game based on the actual results.

Or in layman's terms its referred to as a Pyrrhic victory of winning the battle but losing the war.

Freddy needs to f*ckin stand up for f*ck sakes ... he is a HUGE goalie playing like a boy ... everyone knows how to beat him now - top shelf and/or bet him with speed play ..he falls to his knees and looks like a midget who can't move

Thanks for not using "da" in this post. It allowed me to read it fully. Yes, his positioning is off.

no one said anything about Freddie being at fault or not at fault, just that the Leafs should've had a lot more goals then they scored, they are two separate things, it's a simple concept

even if Freddie had only let in the two deflections and stopped those two stoppable pucks, it doesn't change the fact that the Leafs still should've had 5 or 6 with the chances they created

the offence was dominant last night except when it came to burying their chances, the goaltender was less then NHL quality and has been for awhile now the loss imho is all his

Who’s going to take Andersen when his play and value are in the shitter? They’re better off putting him on the LTIR and making a trade for a 1B goalie. Hell, Reimer or Bernier would be nice right now, especially when Bernier has a .918 SV% on the god damn Red Wings.
Buffalo is rebuilding. We take ullmark and hand over andersen plus any combination of picks and prospects. Ullmark is a ufa next year. Perfect opportunity

Yeah, how dare anyone be upset because Andersen can’t do his do job well anymore.

Good goalies make difficult saves sometimes, hard to understand that when your $5M starter can’t do that so we don’t see it.

.897 SV% on the season and an .857 SV%, in his last 7 games, but we can make more excuses for him if you want.

Have you actually watched any of the last 7 games? The immediate response of a person who has no clue how the game is played, thinks, the goal was scored on the goalie, goalies fault. The person who knows hockey thinks how could have the skaters better defended that play, one screen, could have boxed out the attackers better, on the tip, could have tied up the attackers stick better, one puck off the ass of our defender, sometimes s#it happens, what are ya gonna do there? Andy has made many difficult saves over the last 3 weeks, apparently you are not able to see that for some reason? I don't judge you or your opinion because you don't know what you don't know. Its not your fault you can't assess the Leafs last 7 games from a position of knowledge. Andy is not a Veznia goalie and that is what it would have taken to stop 3 of those 4 goals but he is a very good goalie, the skaters in front of him have to give him a chance to see the puck. His stats are a result of how poorly his team has played in front of him.

Seems like handing the net over to Campbell until he loses it is the obvious next step.

Lucky for Andersen the stands are empty.

Aside from 2 games, our play hasn't really dropped off from that series. We just aren't getting big saves when there were breakdowns.

I thought Holl has been playing with more of an edge the last few games which is good to see.

If your goalie HAS to make big saves it means your team probably isn't paying well, you blew coverage or you don't have the right match ups... In todays game with all the systems we have, teams can dictate play with consistent systematic play.

Alright, I don't think Andersen has played as bad as people made it seem during his tenure, but this season he has been downright bad and is causing this team a ton of games.

I'm pretty ticked off about last night. You could almost predict it.

The team did not seem prepared and a veteran coach pummeled Keefe into the ground.

Yes Toronto didn't get a save when they needed one, but being down 2-0 early killed them.

At times they looked like a preseason team.

They have to be a lot better.

Very good goalies aren’t in the middle of a two season regression and rock a .897 SV% when the team in front of him has improved.

Every team has defensive breakdowns, but good goalies don’t allow every semi-decent chance against in the net. I’m genuinely annoyed that the roles have reversed. When they needed Andersen he was there for them, but now that the pressure isn’t on him, he’s gotten worse. Enough with the excuses.

It takes some serious mental gymnastics to believe that Andersen’s play isn’t sinking the team right now.
