He is fast, aggressive and a big upgrade to vessey so far. I say that with no hyperbole. The team is better with him
Give him a A for effort, didn’t translate into anything though. Agree better than Vesey, but that bar’s set pretty low, can’t expect much from the second’s bin I guess? Simmon’s return had a positive effect.

They absolutely dominated last night and goaltending is killing them. We're not even getting AHL quality play at this point from Fred.
I believe the last time fred was pulled was over a year ago. Keefe takes some blame. Dubas has to step up and send the team a message by moving andersen ASAP.

That was a complete disgrace by Freddy ... and a complete disgrace by Mo ...

Great efforts from Willy and Mitch ...

We were still better team but we are losing with horrific tending ... totally agree last night was AHL level tending

A regular guy plays like that, like Hutch, and he is on da waiver wire in da morning ...

Finally Keefe told Holl look you are hurting team with your play and moved him down .. then all of a sudden he throws a hit OMG ... you are 6ft4 buddy show up and play simple defense, like start of season, for f*ck sakes ... no issues with him going to Seattle he has returned to poor level of play again now for a couple weeks like a 6/7

They literally gave up the fewest shots against all season and shot attempts favoured the Leafs 70-36.

Shot attempts don’t win games but you’re not going to win games when your $5M starter puts up a .778 SV%.

Agree. Anderson should have kept them in the game. Also agree that the attempts don’t change the outcome. Good that they got them. Better if they scored on a few more.

Who’s going to take Andersen when his play and value are in the shitter? They’re better off putting him on the LTIR and making a trade for a 1B goalie. Hell, Reimer or Bernier would be nice right now, especially when Bernier has a .918 SV% on the god damn Red Wings.

This is trolling right? You can't be serious. They only allowed 18 shots.
Dude. They lost. And don’t take this out of context.
They lost after a rest period. With players returning. Matthews had time for his wrist to feel better.

And they had lost 5 of the last 6.

No justification for losing this game. I don’t care if Calgary scored 4 on 18 shots and only 2 in the 3rd. And Markstrom made one big save and his save % sucked too.

Win! Whatever the leafs did it still wasn’t enough. Don’t praise failure. They’d better not be patting themselves on the back.

Simple questions for those who are ok with last night.

Will you be ok with the season if the leafs play this “well” for 4 losses in a playoff round?

Or would you just expect more?

Yeah not surprising to see the same suspects on here calling for a hangin' at city hall. 3 of the 4 goals most goalies dont stop, a screen, a tip and a puck off the ass of a defender.

The Leafs are doing a piss poor job of blocking shots from the point, they are doing a piss poor job of tying up the stick of the attacker in the slot and they are doing a piss poor job of keeping the opposing team out of the front of the net. Take care of these three things and all of a sudden Andy will look like a Veznia candidate.

The lack of hockey knowledge on this forum is staggering. Based on the comments on this forum I bet 50% of the people on here have never played a competitive game.

I agree. While Andersen needs to be better, the number of deflections, cross seam one timers, and 2-1's that he is getting crucified for not stopping just shows the lack of knowledge and the reliance on numbers by too many fans.

nice collection going there, how do you like the Floyd?

I'm a Fender guy at heart so I'm heavy on Fenders

1968 Fender Telecaster, 1980's Yamaha FG-1500, 1980 Camac Space Tiger(Superstrat) 1987 Gibson SG Standard, 1994 40th Anniversary 54 reissue Stratocaster, 2010 Prestige Heritage Classic(LP Style), Prestige NY Standard(dual P90 Jazz box). Prestige is a Canadian Co. HQ'd in Vancouver who make some really fine gutars), 2012 Am Deluxe Stratocaster, 2014 Yamaha LL16D ARE and now the Eastman T486. The Eastman finishing touches are total quality, Nitrocellulose Lacquer, Bone Nut, Ebony Fretboard w/split block pearl inlays, Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and a SD 59 in the bridge, this guitar buries a 335, not a flaw anywhere on it

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Nice to see that there are a few fans not participating in the lynch mob.

Andersen definitely needs to be better but reading about how every goal is his fault and every goal is saveable got old a long time ago. When a shot is deflected from 10 feet in front of the net, changes direction and finds the corner of the net, blaming the goalie is nothing more than evidence of the fact that some people are no longer able to think rationally. It's kind of sad that this seems to describe over 90% of the people posting here.

I'd be disappointed with a season that had high expectations, if the Leafs outplay the opposition like they did last night, you can't blame the team other than Andersen. I think that after the first 2 goals Keefe should have pulled Andersen and played Campbell even if he plays back to back. The zamboni driver would've won last night, the Leafs played well enough to win, Calgary should be feeling they lucked out on an ugly win. Also the Leafs need to stop wearing the St. Pats uniforms, they don't seem to win wearing them.

Wait, are you saying you have all those guitars? That is so awesome! I don't have the time right now but later I might ask for some advice. I'm not very good but I'm slowly learning and I'm trying to decide what guitar(s) to buy next. I don't think I'll ever have as many as you but I have one electric now and I'm pretty sure I'll buy at least one more.

I just don't play well enough and mostly play by myself at home so obviously I have no need for many guitars. If I was rich though, I'd buy a ton just to look at them most of the time, guitars are just so beautiful. :)

Most people understand a goalie, especially a starter needs to play at a certain level. Tips, screens and deflections happen and shouldn't result in goals at the frequency were seeing which is why Fred's numbers are approaching bad backup territory on the season.

You can have off nights, that happens, but we're having off weeks, months and approaching years now.

Freddy needs to f*ckin stand up for f*ck sakes ... he is a HUGE goalie playing like a boy ... everyone knows how to beat him now - top shelf and/or bet him with speed play ..he falls to his knees and looks like a midget who can't move

I agree completely. If I was Dubas, solving the goalie problem would be my top priority and I wouldn't even consider trading futures for rental players until this problem is solved.

I thunk the poster was saying that the Leafs offence should've produced a lot more then the 4 goals that got by Fredlight, and TBH I agree, because they certainly had lot's of chances to do so

This is getting f***in' insane

Yes, it's not Andersen's fault because the Leafs should just score 5+ goals.
