I think it’s safe to say Andersen is done in this market lol
Holtby has been worse than Andersen the past three seasons and Murray has been brutal since 2017-18. Dubas wasn't interested in Murray due to Rutherford's asking price.

6 regulation losses in 7 games and we arguably only deserved to lose 2 of those (the last Jets game and the Ottawa game)

I know freddy is the talk right now but we have issues with the way this team gives up the puck. Check for your self. It’s not pretty and Morgan Rielly is a scourge at it. We have more players with 20 or more on the season than all of the North division. Just f**** sayin.

It’s pretty common to give up the puck when you’re dominating possession all the time.
Thing is, other teams don’t have turnovers or every single chance against end up in the back of the net. This team is too good to get sewered by Andersen.

There are zones to be specified. You will see we are bottom 1/4 of the league for defensive zone giveaways. I matched up our minute guys against other top teams. We look bad towards them. Our defense better start icing the puck when we are in trouble more. Why would a team that has top faceoff winning %’s in the league not ice it. We don’t ice the puck enough and practically none from our own zone. Our defense is to fancy and the push for possession game is to ingrained at times. If its plugged up rifle the puck out. This team tries fancy passes and then have to defend to much.
I never hear anyone talk about it so it’s high time its come up. We could be even harder to play defensively if we stop turning it over in the dzone

Maybe try and acquire Gibson?... I mean... we are going nowhere with Andersen, we haven't even won a round in the playoffs with him 'but to give him a little bit of credit, our team sucked defensively the last couple years with him between the pipes, but this year it's all on him'

This is a weird feeling as a Leaf fan
Over the last few decades we've usually had goaltenders mask the flaws of the team in front of them before they could no longer do it and we'd run the old 18 wheeler off a cliff
This team looks pretty decent in most advanced stats and is the best team in the division talent wise but we can't buy a save right now so we're landing on the wrong side of the results
It's bloody frustrating if I'm being honest, Andersen is costing himself a lot of UFA money, he doesn't even look like a competent backup

Screw Andersen.... Lets maybe try and get Gibson... him and Campbell should do us good! We have a great team, but the team is not going to continue to play in front of a guy that lets in the first goal A LOT of times... get rid of him.

yeah yeah yeah, but you can't win games if your goalie can't stop the puck, let alone the first friggin shot on goal 'how many times has fred let in the first shot again?' exactly.
Freddy’s first 3 seasons with us, he was legit good! Then a significant drop off in year 4, and absolutely cratering this year. You can tell his confidence is completely wrecked.
Toronto is a very tough place to be a goalie. It’s such an overwhelmingly mental/confidence based position, and the pressure on Leafs goalies is so immense, it always turns out badly. Freddy is having a very poor season, but man, these brutal collapses happen to basically every Leafs goalie after enough time. Rough to see.
