It sucks that his value was once more but if you can dump his 5m cap hit somewhere and pay some assets to get a good goalie at a cheaper rate, that's such a win for them.

For a VERY LONG TIME I've said we should've moved Andersen before it was too late and get some assets for him and this past offseason was the last chance to do that and now unfortunately his value is likely crap and we'd be lucky to get rid of him for anything and just get the cap relief.

Forget trying to improve the team's forwards or defense. Dubas' first priority should be to find a decent goalie that can platoon with Campbell with Freddie being the 3rd option.

Considering Calgary, outside of the beatdown by the Oilers, has been surging under Sutter that 5-point difference isn't insurmountable, esp. if the Leafs don't pull it together.

No, the Leafs won't miss the playoffs but ... 5 points ahead of the 5th place team, that has a game in hand? It's far from statistically impossible.

They could miss with this kind of goaltending. Better pray Soupy stays healthy.

If I were a GM I would never say publicly I'm looking for a goalie, puts the blame solely on 1 guy, if you say F or D there isn't a direct player who is targeted by that comment.

But Freddie's done after two nights of lobbed excuses. Although with Campbell's injury history, this may get ugly-er.
