Good thing we dont play these guys in the playoffs..........we wouldn't beat them. Is there any team we wouldn't be afraid to face round 1? Scary stuff.

I find he kind of goes into Rick Nash energy saver mode a lot and has lost that Hart Trophy season drive. Like he’ll coast for a while, doesn’t want to handle the puck 200 feet, wants to try a skill thing that almost wows.
Luke Richardson said postgame that top 6’s usually match up but with the injuries he went with the Dickinson line vs AM & MM. and told them pregame that both often sulk getting back into coverage when they lose the puck. Play transition with speed and you should get opportunities.
He was spot on.

Also said he told the team to be more physical than they have been. That Toronto doesn’t handle physicality well.

I'd like to see Marner with Domi and Robertson and Matthews with Knies and Jarnkrok. The 2nd line is too good to touch even though they didn't score today.

For real, he said that??

Yes, 34 has been on vacation. He has been useless.

I think it's because Mitch being so off his game personally. There is a lot to scratch your head about with Mitch Marners game right now. He is also a lot slower it seems. Maybe it's me though but he seems slower.

This team won’t win a championship with Keefe, he’s just not getting it done for whatever reason.

I’m not sure this is a systems issue more so than it is something else.

I don’t think he has lost the locker room because he seems to be very buddy buddy with the players
but something is missing and they have been very underwhelming this season.

I'm starting to think his wedding and all the planning and events leading up to it threw off his usual off-season routine and his game is suffering for it. Not saying he shouldn't have gotten married or anything like that, but it's hard to deny he's off his mojo right now.

how many players get married in the off season and turn out fine. I feel like we always have an excuse for these guys when they are under performing. What they go through other NHL players go through.

The downside of the Matthews Marner partnership is Matthews is prone to mirroring Marner’s floof game and doesn’t make use of his size, power, drive and starts deferring the shot. He starts playing like he’s a 6’0” 180 skill guy slaloming around traffic and making little give and go plays when he should easily just drive right through traffic, shoot in volume. If there’s one linemates he needs to take after is Knies, who still has that young bull play style Matthews used to possess in abundance.

Yup, inside out deke, skate hard for a couple strides and a backhand that hasn't scored in years.
