Good on Marner. As greedy as it sounds, I wanted to see Marner hit that marker more than the win.

Glad to see us get the extra point but we need to play better. Penalties killed both teams here.

Feels like weve lost a lot of "non emotion" series. Have we forgot the Matthews laugh on Weber?

No, I'm just talking about playing Tampa Bay more efficiently in the regular season.

I have no idea what this team will look like or do in the playoffs.

Yeah but having a coach who keeps trying the same thing over and over again in OT despite the same result will be a liability in the playoffs too.
Whats the same thing hes trying over and over? I think the only thing he hasnt done is strayed from the big 4 starting

We didn't get the extra point, but you probably meant to say we got a point.

Kinda expected we’d lose this one, it was Stamkos Appreciation Night afterall.

That being said, I thought they played solid until OT. I one hundred percent still do not trust Murray in net. He looks so stiff when he’s moving post to post like he’s trying to avoid hurting himself again.

I can’t stand when people use the “there’s non 3 on 3” in the playoffs. It’s the fact that this team consistently comes up short in the biggest moments of a game, whether regular season or playoffs. It’s a mentality thing. They don’t hate losing enough.

They will continue to rack up points and make the playoffs but the overall concern of falling short in biggest moments of the game will be there until they prove otherwise.

Although there ARE structural differences between 3v3 OT vs the regular playoffs.

I am not trying to be debby downer but the moment it went to OT, I just didn't think the boys can do it.

Anyhow. Like I mentioned earlier, I really liked how the boys played tonight.

Can we get a 3 on 3 OT coach ? FFS I swear to god we should be in 1st in the division right now, why do they keep throwing stupid passes making unforced turnovers in EVERY OT ! Yes cool Marner hit 19 in a row, but f*** how can a team with this much talent suck this f***ing bad at OT.

Congrats to Marner for setting the record.

A great shift by Tavares. But yes, he kicked the puck in. Too bad, as Mitch was right there too.

Nice stick work by both Matthews and Nylander on Willy's goal.

Bad pass in OT and a weak goal by Murray.

I really don't see blaming the refs for this one. Only one penalty more to Toronto, and all were legit. I fully expected Tavares to get a penalty when Cirelli blew by him.

After the refs gave us the PP and we tied the game, they put the whistles away. I don't agree with doing that, but I understand the reasoning. Yes, they could/should have called a penalty on Tavares' rush, but the most blatant one that didn't get called was Bunting grabbing Chernak's stick.

I wish I could get pissed off but I just refuse. Let them continue to piss away points, let them get an unfavorable matchup in round 1, let them lose again in game 7.

It's all part of the learning process I believe...It's just a shame that everyone managing and playing for this franchise has a brain coated in teflon. (nothing sticks)

Absolutely was no goal, however I love that Tavares was carrying VIctor Hedman on his back the whole way while Hedman was clutching him with his free hand. Made me sick after seeing some of the calls made on us. Whatever though, Hedman has the same shine to the officials Chara did, they just look away.

They f***ing lost to the last place Canadiens. Unfavorable matchups is not the issue.

Besides, there are no favorable matchups in the playoffs, especially for this team.

They just need to make the playoffs and win. I don’t care if they squeak in or soar in. Just get there and win a f***ing round, no matter who the opponent is. No excuses.

one thing I’ll say is this, Tampa has a good chance of being our first round matchup and I’m so glad they no longer have Ryan McDonagh

I don’t care that Sergachev is putting up monster points, that guy is prone to some awful mistakes. Having him ascend with McD gone is good for us

Gone in 6 first round again this team is not bad in the regular season but come to the playoffs again they’re to soft as soon as the hitting starts they will back off the puck and not fight for it along the boards

The disheartening thing about this game, is this is EXACTLY how all game 7’s in the first round happen. This Team has the same killer instinct today as it did 5 years ago. But as long as matthews and marn’s have their individual accomplishments
