and Marchand cost the bruins the cup with a ridiculously lazy change.

it takes time for mist

They crapped the bed in early round series' against Montreal and Washington when they should've been making cup runs, they missed the playoffs, fired their coach, both finals appearance they ultimately lost via brutal collapses, first two goals in 30 seconds against Chicago and then being a complete no-show in game 7 last year. Before they won their cup they blew a 3-0 series lead. They lost to Ottawa, then they got spanked by Tampa, which might've happened last year had Tampa not been too busy imploding themselves. And they would be on their way down if not for the injection of elite young talent into their roster, even with Bergeron and Marchand's play.

They're a great team but they're not the Patriots of the NHL like we make them out to be. They have a great "culture" because they have Bergeron and Chara who are in the later stages of their NHL careers, the fact that our guys aren't there yet is a good thing and moreover its not something we can just get in the blink of an eye, it takes time.

Again I'm not happy whatsoever with the team but "we need culture like Boston," just doesn't make sense to say.

Lmao. Wow- 3 weeks into the season and people are already claiming that Carrick and Zaitsev>Barrie hahahha.

He's a very very high event player

I do wonder that with our forwards as poor defensively as they are if somebody like Barrie is a good fit behind them

Poor defensive play compounded by more poor defensive play isn't conducive to keeping the puck out of your own net

****ing Steve Larmer was a beast!

He was but it was a goon on the fourth line that I know but I can’t remember the name. What a great game that was especially since it was the first one with all the real players.

Just came to me: Stu Grimson.

that’s pretty much what happened. We gave up a pt to clb. So 1 back from my pace. It sucked to lose the point way we did in MTL.

Absolute best would have been to win 1 of the wash/stl games.

we got a split in Boston. We are 1 pt behind a good pace for this disaster of a sched.

3 behind a best case scenario.

Lol, you couldn't be more wrong...

Case in point, I've been one of Mikheyev's more vocal supporters since mid-summer.

I'm thrilled with guys like Moore (American) and Kapanen (finish)... I think Andersen has what it takes to take a team to the cup.

I think Kara is one of our most underrated prospects....

I think highly of our most recent draft picks (liljegren, sandin, robertson, etc).

Just the fact that you would post something like this makes me think I was right.

I really think he has and will continue to be a big factor in Muzzin's good season. For all his defensive warts, he still provides a great option for Muzzin who gets himself in to trouble with breakouts and the forecheck with his poor speed

He's got to be able to hold up defensively though and our forwards aren't going to give him much help

His warts are really being exposed and unless something happens to make the forwards give a **** he's going to struggle

For years. They missed twice after they won the cup in 2011, first time by one point second time tied for last spot and lost out on ROW. Pretty quick rebuild.

And then went out in round 1 and round 2 right?

The whole team needs to settle in defensively. Rielly's getting walked regularly, Muzzin's foot speed is an issue and nobody is taking time and space away. His issues are consistent with the group IMO.

I can count on one hand how often I've seen them stand up for each other. At least Kadri didn't take anything from anyone and cared out there. It's so frustrating to watch but the problem has to be beyond just the roster. Even players who were on other teams changed their attitudes completely the moment they joined Toronto. When Muzzin came here, he played like the Muzzin of old. Rocked Perry hard, twice I think, and a slapshot bomb to get his first leaf goal. After that he became more like Muffin than Muzzin for the rest of the year, and just seemed to have the same corporate culture 9-5 mentality like the rest of the team. To be fair he's not like that this year but there seems to be a deep rooted problem that extends beyond the players. Culture issue; some of the blame has to fall on the coach and management. A coach should be able to motivate his players I think

It’s the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen. The Goat just takes crosscheck from Marchand and never said a word back. It’s mind boggling.

I’m speculating but I think Barrie was taken by surprise when he was hit in preseason and no one came to his defence. I think he’s said something in the room and it ruffled feathers.

Whats your problem dude...?

There's no possible justification to defend Marner and bash Matthews, contracts, play or otherwise, and I don't much care for your argument style of calling Matthews a 73 point player..."but that's what he is" ya, ya I know, but I'm not doing that dance with you. Its an incredibly dishonest comment and everyone knows it. I'm pretty sure you beat that drum in all the summer threads too. You're also shredding the Nylander/Pasta comparable and already got called out for just using Pasta's post-contract season in your argument, you got called out for it but just went on being willfully obtuse about the matter. It doesn't feel like you're arguing in good faith here at all.

I really had it with babcock.
How the f*** you come out to an important game like a bunch of scared 5 year old kids? Like are you preparing your team or not?
No in game adjustment again. When the Matthews-Marner-Johnsson vs the Bergeron line is not working then DO SOMETHING!
AGAIN the 4th line on the ice after a bruins goal.
When your top line sucks then do something, anything. I dont f***ing know why and how we are always unprepared and arriving late in the game. Always.
Also what the f*** are doing with the back to backs? Why not go for four points? Why not go for winning and why go for not losing? A rested goalie can bail out a tired team. Play your better goalie vs the harder opponent. Stop with this bullshit. I f***ing love it that no other team does this.

Marner sucks ass the only time ive noticed him when he gave away the puck in a pp killing the momentum. Matthews looked timid. Johnsson was an idiot. And thats your top line.

Hutch and Kappy played good. Also Freddie the Gauth with a good game.

i have stated this several times here in the past

you can't just have 1 or 2 guys playing like that, they will eventually give up because , why should they be they only ones on the roster sacrificing their bodys?

29 million in cap spent on the big 3 are you ready for this shocking number????

nylander has 1 hit on the season ,
matty 2 ,
barrie 4
,
marner 5

this is a 10 ply muffen soft roster

I think it’s admirable that your outlook is one of positiveness towards our leafs at this time of dismay ..
However , even i from watching them for over 55 years am extremely down about them and the wAy they are loosing and how Long it’s been going on now
So way to go brotha
But I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better and the only hope is that Keefe really does hold the youthful key to unlocking this very talented but sluggish teams full potential
I hope so

I could have said the same thing over the last 3 seasons, our complete lack of defensive awareness isn't improving

If your an offensive rover type your going to do it tough with this group

A point ahead of where I thought they’d be, but I thought they would be playing much better.
