Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 4-1

Not a good result, but the only relevance for this game (or any regular season game for any team) is the standings. I think this one probably puts Florida out of reach for the Leafs, but hopefully Florida stays ahead of Boston.

I haven't disappeared at all. Not a great game. So now we see how they react for the next two games.

I watch them play a bit and my feeling is Boston's not going to go far either, but for entirely different reasons.

This is where I have some real nostalgia for knuckle dragging old time hockey. If someone wants to take away your time and space, you take away their health. Winners simply cannot be boxed out of a game and shunted into the L column easily.

I am not watching that shit if it goes to Game 7. My heart just can't take it anymore. I would want to live a little longer and enjoy life with what little I can.

I wish I got paid millions for continuing to fail at my job and not get called out or be held accountable eventhough i put in no effort

I’d definitely package him Fraser Minten and a 1st for Jake Chychrun.

I didn't understand the goaltending situation either. So now does Samsonov play Buffalo and Woll plays Boston again?

Matthews has been cooling down a bit. Tonight really could have used a Matthews performance like the Philly game. Just put the team on your back and will them back into it. Get yourself started by plastering a guy. Oh well. Yawn.

This place makes me laugh

When does our defense look good?

When something bad has happened (like Rielly being suspended) and our forwards decide they have to put in some work to help them out, holding up forecheckers, getting back quickly and picking up trailers into our zone

When does our defense look bad?

When the forwards don't give an effort and let forecheckers attack our defense unmolested, they don't get back and just let guys skate around doing whatever the hell they want

The defense wasn't great but if that's the help there going to get nobody is going to succeed back there

Bad game. Screw the leafs for giving me hope and crushing it relentlessly.

But just a bad game, we were due. No show really. What’s worse is we have no bite when these ones come up. They’re better than this. Onto the next one.

Man its been years now.

its the same thing again and again!

1. Take time and space away
2. Play physical
3. Clog neutral zone
4. Try to make entries hard and keep them to the outside they will never dump and chase
5. Wait for them to turn over the puck because they will force passes as there are no clean looks b/c Leafs don't work the puck up to the points for point shots
6. intercept the puck on transition and score on the Leafs because forwards ain't gonna backcheck hard enough

Rinse and Repeat!

I would have thought all the learning is done now and its time to "execute plays"
