amazing, post a tweet about it how they suck and I'll agree with it. are you trying to make a point? kampf is literally playing for his defence which he sucks at now, that was the whole point of my post. multiple people can suck, and they have been.

That tweet is disingenuous, as if blaming Kampf for the Leafs' recent struggles. He's the least of the Leafs' problems. The Leafs will live or die in the playoffs primarily on their top players and how they play.

It's clear one of the hot shot interns in that 10000 employee front office made the O'Reilly trade.

The rest of the moves are more Dubas level.

Need another Sandin to trade for another 7D so we can go 10F 8D next time. Or maybe another Laugherty to make us the deepest team in the universe

Rielly's time here has expired. He should have been traded for a defensive defenseman instead of being re-signed. It's infuriating wayching him run around out there like a chicken with its head cut off. He's terrible on the PP as well. We'll documented here.
That 2012 draft class was truly something else. Almost all players from that class were godawful. Tom Wilson was arguably the best 1st rounder from that year and of course Alex Phucking Kerfoot was also drafted in 2012.

I mean how many coaches are we going to give these guys?

They are who they are. We'll see if anything has changed come playoff time

This is their 2nd coach?

First coach took them from 2nd worse in the league to the playoffs
They were also bunch of teenagers who only had Tavares for a year

Now it's on Keefe

yea i forgot all blame goes on one player in a team sport
The 11 million dollar guys on this roster aren't great leaders or particularly gritty we know this much...and the coach, gm and president have said so. On top of this, none of them are blowing anyone away offensively. In the postseasons they have been generally disappointing.

Yet here we are...going into the 5th playoff with them and the 4th playoff with the same coach.

Sounds like a great plan!

With this leafs...nobody knows if there is a leader.

I said it after the Oilers game, the team will probably go 1-2 after this Western swing. Also, they didn’t just add players to the lineup but actually adding players to change the way they played. This will take time to adjust.

What I saw today and I also mentioned on the GDT, that they are not only protecting Murray after the whistle but starting crap on Demko after the whistle. And how Lafferty and Acciari just kept bumping Miller when he was going off for a change. How Schenn and McCabe was laying the body. You noticed how quick McCabe jumped in to protect JT. How everyone was finishing checks.

These stuff will pay dividends at the end. And they did against the Flames. It didn’t happened today bc the top guys are still being a bit too careless, not just the two shortys but also 5v5 when they allowed the Nucks to have odd man rushes.
Our top guys need to be better and stop being careless, bc odd man rushes are our Achilles heel over the past playoffs. You just can’t expect our goalie, whoever that maybe, to continue to make those saves and bail out the team.

Today is one of those games that, Demko and Murray just made saves that they should, I don’t think Demko robbed the Leafs and vice versa. The diff is Murray faced more odd man rushes and he can’t save them all.

When it rains it pours with this f***ing team. Sometimes it was easier when we were just lottery fodder.

I hate the 11th forward/7D option as much as anyone but I don’t think this is going to be a long term thing at all. Keefe is just doing this to see what he has in the new acquisitions. Now that he’s seen, he might even go back to a regular setup against NJD on Tuesday.

And that sums up this team in 4 simple words.
It's not a skill problem, it's not a heart problem, it's not a toughness problem, it's carelessness that does them in over and over again.

Although I love the creative play of players like Marner, sometimes I really wish the Leafs had a coach that was a bit more hard-nosed like Pat Burns used to be. This team would benefit so much from simplifying their game in their own zone and the neutral zone. How many goals against would be saved if they used Burns' old mantra - "If in doubt, off the glass and out."

The cough up by Schenn for the goal tonight is a perfect example. What is a stone hands like him doing handling the puck at the hatch marks under pressure?

And what excuse do we use of matthews play this season????
I don't know if one is needed.... Did you expect another 60 goal campaign out of him? There is a reason its only happened 3 times this century.

My guess is he still ends up hitting 40 goals and is above a ppg. He's clearly been playing through injuries this season, so if he coasts a little more during the 82 games I'll live. Let's see what he gives us come the post season.

It's really more of the "I'm not getting back on D" attitude and would seems to be the lack of effort Matthews is showing. He's the highest paid player on the team and he's extension is coming this summer. We need to know what he is. If he is injured, then rest him until the playoffs, the effort level at the moment for the teams top player is borderline unacceptable.
