The better team won. I have said it before and I will say it again right now, this team is about to start a rebuild after this season. They’re gonna lose Matthews and Nylander 100%. Both are gone.

This is the unfortunate reality for this team

Always lack the character to win games like these because they believe to be above it. They won’t grind out a win against a poor team because they feel like it should be easy

Joke result. Poor samsonov deserved better than this putrid performance by the team in front of him

Imagine taking your foot off the gas after 1 period, against a team icing an AHL roster in a building you haven't won in in 5 visits.

Pathetic.

Sure Sammy was great, but familiar story with goaltending lately - always letting in 1 that reeks

I know it will trigger some but until Marner can learn to stop trying to force things and give the puck away, he should not be out there for OT. He's killing them out there 3 on 3.

If I were Samsonov, I would sign with the other team. He got run over multiple times and nobody did shit. So spineless Leafs will get their asses kicked again in playoffs. Love Leafs and their regular season shenanigans, but change of management and coaching staff is necessary for future wins. Or maybe it’s a cunning move by Dubas to reduce risk of Bedard becoming a Hab?

It’s been said many times, but why the fk is Tavares on in OT in the regular season. He just doesn’t have the foot speed for it. His biggest weakness is the most essential part of OT.

The floodgates for the bigbucks signing started with Tavares who is becoming more invisible. We could have kept Kadri and used the money on defence. Kadri had heart. Dubas is an ass

My favourite part is the book is out on how to beat this team and it's 100% still valid

Collapse to the net, block shots and rely on your goalie to make some saves. The Leafs won't get to the net and will play perimeter hockey. Sooner or later the Leafs will make a mistake and you can capitalize
@PromisedLand has been saying this for years.... and every time he has been correct.

Habs fans should probably check the standings before they talk any shit

Why would they care? They very recently beat us in the playoffs, hitting a milestone this team hasn’t accomplished since 1967, and despite being low in the standings always beat the Leafs, or at least keep the score respectable. They’ve killed the Leafs a couple of times since that series, Leafs wins have been by the skin of our teeth.

Has there been many games that the Leafs have played the Habs where Anderson hasn't looked good against us? Almost makes you want to trade for him.

Sucks that we lost, but at least the Liljegren/Rielly pairing looked pretty good this game and if they keep playing well and can develop good chemistry maybe this will finally answer the question of who can play with Rielly and compensate for his weaknesses although to his credit Rielly has been playing better recently.

The Habs suck so hard that they don't even know how to tank properly. Losers.
