Our #1 and #2 goalies have both been better than most people anticipated so far...

While the regular season is important to get a good seed in the playoffs, I think some people are over reacting to our #3 being a below average NHL goalie.

If we end up playing our #3 in the playoffs, then we obviously aren't winning.
Wild thought but maybe try a different number 3, give Kallgren a different role.

Leafs are 26th in the league for 5 on 5 goals forced

what am I missing? Is this the game plan this season?

How’s our secondary scoring doing? We honestly have a black hole for depth scoring. Kerfoot couldn’t score if his life depended on it. In the last 5 games alone. How many glorious chances has Kerfoot pissed away?

We played a good game, we will win a lot of games if we continue that and both of our goaltenders can stay fit

I don't know what to say about us in OT, you would think we were trying to lose watching it

TBH if they play like that 5 on 5 goals will come .. lots of good looks.

3 on 3 though, their elite skill should win them at least 75% of the time.

This year they're like 1-5 now ... Those points cost you positioning in the playoffs.

Marner had no sense there and even less respect for the opposition. Who leaves a drop pass on a 3 on 3 in the high slot with no one back? It’s beyond bad.
The same group of players who have been doing this regularly for a while in OT now - they are braindead. Too busy focusing on the cute, highlight reel play.

Some people just love to pile on after a Leaf loss, eh?

I'm seeing "they're gonna miss the playoffs" and "this should be enough to clean house" while the Leafs are 3rd in the east and 2nd in their division. Give your heads a shake.

idk lol the response is fairly restrained by Leafs boards standards

Why not try Petruzelli if we lose with Kallgren anyway? Keefe is just an AHL coach. It is so obvious. Can’t wait for the moment when him and dubas crawl back to AHL where they both belong. Oh, and take Kallgren too.

Don't stop there. We still have empty seats left on the bus and a few players who like sightseeing!

The team didn’t even score until like a full minute after that drop pass was made. We still had enough time to make a whole line change and set up a defensive posture.

We suck at defending in OT point period blank. Like I said before, no stick pressure, they let the winger walk right in off the half wall, and Kallgren has to save that shot.

Whatever another point. With Murray or Samsanov thats a win. Isles are such a bad team. More evidence we need a forward but gritty media members will ignore it.

With so much space in OT I don't understand why some of the talented Leaf players don't hold onto the puck and drive the net instead of throwing the puck away leading to goals for the other team...I guess there's no one on this team like McDavid...but I don't think one needs to be like McDavid to drive the net...it's about heart and attitude...Matthews has done it before, though frequent enough...guys need to drive the net with all that space in OT...what's left to lose? Team is a crappy 1-5 in OT.

We'd be 4th in the NHL if we were even half way decent at OT

Maybe we should practice that instead of Marner on D

Marner on D is such an abomination of an idea. He’s not Fedorov with the wheels to cover all 200 feet with efficiency from there and you’re not really expecting real D from him. You just want the transitional puck carrying. There’s more conventional ways to achieve that.

Can we please get a coach that can teach these idiots something? 3 on 3 is a simple strategy that a peewee team should be able to execute. KEEP THE PUCK and wait for an opening.

It's friggin disgrace.

I thought the Leafs played well. OT was of course epically bad. We are thinking so much in OT it looks like we are not thinking at all.

.904 in the AHL, .889 in the NHL screams adequate #3. You people just expect a #3 to play like a #1 for some reason.
Yea exactly, weird to give a. 904 AHL goalie such a long leesh yet a leesh at all with those numbers. Especially since we have a better option sitting around waiting for a shot. He hasn't even been playing top tier teams.

Sad reality I guess 🤣

The Leafs haven't been their best with multiple injuries in defense and goaltending (where theyre already shallow at) and are still top 3 in the East is a much better way to look at it.

If Matthews gets going while Brodie and Samsonov get healthy we should be in pretty good shape.
