I’m less concerned now than 2 weeks ago. They seem to be playing their possession game with more pace and rhythm. And there’s a more normal level of physical buy in, back pressure etc. Those things are all good. But when they stretch out and hunt offense, it’s like all common sense goes out the window.

I watched the replay multiple times, and it clearly was not. Kallgren was beat clean.

It was his fault we are in OT, and I don’t really care about the excuse that the leafs only scored 2 goals. The islanders shot quality should’ve had them getting shut out.

He’s not really supposed to be here. I always try to remember that when I get upset with Kallgren. 3 goals against on a weeknight at home and 30 plus saves is reasonable goaltending to win. But we should have locked up the 2-1.

And WTF was Willie doing on that goal in O.T?

Strongly agreed there. I think Matthews malfunction actually played a big part in Nylander looking bad. But also situationally why are you spamming the stretch pass when it’s clear you need a change? AM34 isn’t going to speed burst even if he got there to receive the pass.
