Well assuming we pick up someone at the TDL then nobody, roster spots aren't limited so we good as long as everyone fits under the cap of course. If and when Chevy trades for somebody, who does he waive?
I think it's more likely due to his health. Even though he's back that doesn't mean he still isn't managing somethingHe's a huge supporter of of most of his players until he's not. He is "Ville's biggest fan" but that hasn't helped him get out of the PB.
As @NA Hockey has indicated Appelton's minutes have gone down lately.
The idealist in me is praying for Ehlers, but the realist in me is thinking Pionk.
They can't fix it till the next cbaI think nelson or boeser would be good fits in terms of giving your power player another lethal weapon at its disposal . I think special teams play huge role in playoffs and hockey in general.. picking up a top 6 guy even laughton at a cheap price bolsters your pp and pk a bit... someone on defense who can help on the pk be valuable asset aswell
Jesus that loop hole still exists.. wonder if oilers will abuse it with Ecancer Kane aswell
Yeah for me, the bait I'm dangling is Lambert. Still probably has decent value in the market, but he's going to be hard pressed to crack this lineupBrad Lambert has 3 goals through more than half the AHL season.
His window to being an impactful top 200 NHL forward - which is looking like a 50/50 chance at best - is probably minimum three seasons away, which is getting to the very edge of the Jets contention window.
I’m not saying give him away for scraps, but the idea we’d value him as some untouchable prospect worth more than a late first rounder is wild to me.
If he’s the key ask in a deal for someone with term or a high end rental, move him while he still has some value.
I think Lambert's future is tied to Ehlers' futureThey can't fix it till the next cba

huh? the context of the OP is if the Jets suffered an injury at 2C.All thing being equal with Lowry's line intact I see no need for Laughton. Even though they wont score in bunches Arniel seems to love that line and they do what he wants for a third line so I see no spot for him.

If Nik extends, our top 6 will look pretty sillmilar for the foreseeable future
I think the Names extension might reflect the fact that the org doesn't think that Lambert is ready (or will ever be ready) for 2C duties
lambert was pretty close to making the roster this year and is the top-6 injury call up. 3 seasons away? i dont know about that. this entire Moose team is crap, the highest scorer is brad lambert w/ 23 pts in 39 gp and everyone else is ~0.5 ppg or worse. the offensive ceiling of this team is brutal esp. compared to last season.Brad Lambert has 3 goals through more than half the AHL season.

Theyve got him at 3rd line RW on the moose.... pretty hard to see how thats good for his developmentI think Lambert's future is tied to Ehlers' future

Zero chance we make that tradeI think the price to get him is probably Lambert or Salo plus a first. If you're Trotz under absolutely no pressure to move him why take anything less.
I actually don't agree. Chib probably never plays in the NHL. Lambert is much more suited to and he might not make it.I think Chibrikov is a better prospect than Lambert. If a higher ranked prospect is moved I'd move Lambert over Chib/Salo/Barlow
There is almost no chance Barlow is moved. We would move a roster D, like a Stanley, Heinola in a package for a top D possibly.
Chevy hates giving up a top prospect and probably won't.
Agree. I'd be open to moving Lambert for a long term solution, but not for a rental.lambert was pretty close to making the roster this year and is the top-6 injury call up. 3 seasons away? i dont know about that. this entire Moose team is crap, the highest scorer is brad lambert w/ 23 pts in 39 gp and everyone else is ~0.5 ppg or worse. the offensive ceiling of this team is brutal esp. compared to last season.
there is no high-end rental this year from the looks of it. lambert for nelson? no way from me. if dobson is on the table in the off-season id def. include lambert in a package for him though or a similar NHL player.
i think lambert makes the team next year in a top-9 role. appleton, iafallo and ehlers are ufa so may be openings, & namestnikov can easily move around the line-up.
Pretty lame if we give up on both perfetti and lambert at C with barely scratching the surfaceI wouldn't be reading much into what the line is labeled. I have watched each of the last 5 Moose games and he's getting significant minutes, including all offensive situations.
Him playing RW is the more interesting and possibly concerning aspect.
at 5v5 at least, perfetti has underperformed this year again. he & appleton are scoring at the same rate given their TOI, & Appleton w/ a much lesser offensive role. Either would be viable potential upgrade spots for a deep PO run, although the 2nd line has been performing better as of the last 10 or so games. IMO a versatile top-9 winger would be beneficial to the 3rd line with possible 2nd line upside. Palmieri imo is a solid player for this, and likely isn't returning a 1st. 13 5v5 goals is way more than Appleton and Perfetti.Just a reminder that Arniel is a huge supporter of Appleton. I really don't think he's going to demote him if the Jets get a new RW. I kind of think it's more likely that Perfetti would be demoted, rather than Appleton.

Interesting. I see the opposite, LOL. Lambert to me is either a top 6 forward or he's in the AHL. I think Chibrikov could carve out a role anywhere from line 2-4.I actually don't agree. Chib probably never plays in the NHL. Lambert is much more suited to and he might not make it.

Maybe he won't eventually make it, but I think it's crazy for people to point to his AHL stats this year as some sort of sole measuring stick. This Moose team is terrible.

one of these names are not like the othersLaughton or Frederic or preferably Rakell...guys who can play up and down the lineup, fill holes. But not if the cost is too high.
On defense I don't know if there's a needle-mover out there.
