First of all LOL at all the guys who were talking like we were already advancing to the 2nd round after the series was 3-1.

It doesn't matter if it's 3-1 or 3-0 these days. That means sh-t. Gone are the days when a team is up 3-1 and they should win it. Many years ago the NHL decided they wanted that predictability gone from the game.. and they got it. How? That's up to you guys to debate. But for sure - gone are the days when a team is winning 3-1 in a series and they are expected to win it. Out the window.

I called this 4 or 5 days ago when the Leafs were up 3-1. That this would go 7 games. Look up my post history for proof. It's a perfect scenario for everyone- the fans, the league. Leafs, Habs, first time playoffs in 50 years.... you think they're going to let this end in 5 games? LOL. No way was this going any less than 7 games.

And of course, the Leafs pour on all the pressure in overtime, only to have the Habs score on an off-chance LOL. How many times have we seen THAT scenario?? I said the predictability in the NHL was gone, but this sort of scenario is becoming so common it is also now becoming predictable- one team storms all of the offence for the first 10 minutes, can't score, then the other teams catches a break and scores on an odd chance. Same old, it's becoming commonplace.

The ONE time in a half-decade that that the two original six franchises clash in the playoffs - and probably the largest showdown in the entire league -- NO WAY are they letting this end in anything less than 7 games lol. No way. 2500 tickets up for grabs in Montreal.. that's when we knew it was going back there in the first place.

Anyways. Game 7? Haha. I called it. The Leafs blow it again

Alright, I was with friends tonight, had some pops, here I am. I don't often react on this site anymore, but christ.

To you and the other folks who are claiming to walk on water because you said it'd go 7;

Your "calling it" means absolutely nothing because there was no cost to your bet. If it didn't go 7 you would have hid in the corner silently. You don't have some magical insight into the outcome of sporting events. You, I, and Nostradomus don't know shit.

But continue to pat yourself on the back for "calling it". We're all pessimistic. We've all (or some of us have) been through the last 17 years of no playoff wins. We all half-expect the boys to blow it because they've been shitting the bed for a while. It's been a rough ride.

This isn't specifically directed at you hfman. You're amongst the crowd. And I'm sure we're sharing similar pain, but for gods sake, lets stop with the sucking of our own Jumbo Joes. Tonight was dogshit for all of us.

I say 65% the Leafs win game 7. It sure would be nice.

And if not I got Kraken season tickets next year so SEE YA nerds. I'm 3/4 kidding but holy smokes it'd be rough to lose in 7 again.

Man, it was a bad game. Leafs got clapped. But you folks are acting like we're the first team ever to lead 3-1 in a series that goes to 7.

I acknowledge that it was a bad outing by the team and I really wish we had won. We got badly outcoached tonight.

I still think this team wins game 7 more than it loses it against MTL. Let's see how she goes. Go Leafs Go.

This franchise will forever be crushed under the pressure of playing in this market and I have no faith any roster we could ice in my lifetime will be able to overcome it and actually win a Cup. The 2020 Lightning wouldn't have made it out of the first round if they had to answer to this cesspool of a fanbase and media machine day after day.

1) they don't deserve this fanbase. The unrelenting love they get, despite failure after failure, isn't a hurdle of playing here.

2) The Bell Center holds 21,000. There were 2,500 in last night. That's less than 15%. If that's too intimidating an atmosphere for them, they should probably retire now.

3) Toxic media? Name me one media member that even comes close to firing a hard, difficult question at this group the way the Vancouver media do, or the way Toronto media used to circa Burke & JFJ. Toxic media? Give me a damn break

the problem is, we have all seen this movie before...over and over again. they should have wrapped this up already, they came out the last 2 games and played disinterested until the 3rd period. not a good look for a team with cup aspirations :(

all my faith isnt gone yet...but its teetering on the edge

from 3-1 to 3=3.
win or loss.... I'm already embarrassed
Where's the fire boys? Where's the killer instinct?

For half of the 3rd period and all of overtime they had the killer instinct, hopefully they'll play like that for all of game 7.

Jesus. It's game 7 fellas. I understand the anger, shock and disbelief that game 7 is happening after a 3-1 series lead. But it's not over. I see so many posts demanding to 'blow the whole team up', 'Matthews/Marner are useless', 'Campbell is a terrible goalie', etc. The same Matthews that just won the Rocket, the same Marner that led the team in scoring and clinched 4th in the NHL, or the goalie that finished 6th in the NHL in GAA and top 9 in save %, on a team not known for it's defensive structure.

But it's time to forget all that, short memory and focus on game 7, exactly what the leafs locker room is going to do on Monday. Because if they win game 7, these same people will be celebrating, congratulating, and transform into the complete opposite personality, if the leafs come out on top.

Wake up today, vented but refreshed, with pure excitement that the most historic rivalry in the NHL, is going to game 7, and it's going to be in Toronto. A real chance to end the 1st round curse, and for the first time in the core's careers, advance to round 2. Get behind them, cease the negative energy and enjoy what might be the best game of the playoffs.
Look on the bright side, at least you didn't get swept, by a team you dominated in the regular season with 6 straight wins against them coming into the playoffs. I would kill to be in y'all position right now, game 7, at home.

I'm no leafs fan, but I'm cheering for the vintage crew, in Spezza, Thornton, Foligno, Simmonds and even JT. I would love to see them lift the cup before career's end. And although the main fanbase ridiculing Edmonton all over social media is Toronto's, I'm still cheering for them in game 7, and would love to see them slap the Jets into oblivion

Odds to win the game are around 70 percent..so 65 percent falls into that arena. This is based on the line at several betting establishments. Again, im not here to root for a team persay, but people see difference between these 2 teams as much more then it is.

So a team that hasn't won in 2007..2011..whatever years 7. 8. 9 years ago has something to do with today's team?? Um..matthews was in 9th grade 11 yrs ago..lol. lose 2 games in ot...I dont see the issue here . Maybe to you its a huge deal...

Whats the saying? Too little too late?
They have to grasp the idea that a Championship team brings it game in game out for a full 60mins.
far too often they think they can just coast through a game.
I thought I was going to see a hungry team tonight after losing in OT. but it was the same.
let's just hope they figure it out tomorrow and get the win. little rest would have been nice too

Thanks! Not all of us took pleasure in the Oilers losing either.

I don't get the coaching complaints. We have a coach who has a team losing games because of unforced turnovers and lack of finish, while regularly carrying the play.

It's not the media, it's this teams heart. Happy to be good, no will to be great.

If anything id say the fanbase and media has been overly kind to a team that hasn't won a first round matchup (here's hoping yet) in 5 seasons.

Hoping Keefe gets let go if they lose, horrible lineups, strategies and decision making
I have followed the Leafs since the early 60's and this loss has probably stung the most & while bringing a lot of truths out.

Dubas does not know how to build a team at this level and is too "attached" to his players
Keefe is a junior coach.
Our so called core is "rotten to the core"...Reilly is a brain dead clone of his mentor Phaneuf and has adopted his lazy mannerisms without the booming shot.
Marner is a pouty, spoiled kid who is scared and playing pond hockey.
Matty can't seem to get interested....probably thinking of the Arizona sun.
Nylander, while playing the best of the three can't be relied on from game to game.
And......Tavares should never have been signed. His contract will soon become a boat anchor....This core is soft and gutless. THE most important attribute is having the "will to win" none of these players have it.

We need new management. A fiery, talented coach with a winning record (Gerard Gallant?) and a new core that take up less cap space so we can spread it around.

The length of the season has nothing to do with the playoffs.
It does. Wear and tear. This team should be mentally and physically sharp and bright eyed and bushy tailed with a shorter season with the urge to take on the world. There isn't urgency with this playoff group with too many no shows, a lack of self discipline and with frequent mental lapses. Players arent stepping up when counted upon when it really matters. What does that tell you if two 40 year olds have to step up their game to compensate for a few 20 year old punks? Hopefully that will paint you a better understanding of the psychology and reason behind my madness.

It is tiresome listening to so many of you rip Mitch Marner. He played his heart out in this game 6. If there is a big ticket player to be traded, it is Matthews. We can fetch a bigger prize with his trade. It is not his fault his GM mismanaged the cap. But after Monday's exit from these playoffs, it is time to shop around for value.
I don’t know what you’re watching he hasn’t scored in 18 games you got to be a troll go back to the Montreal Board or you need glasses lmao just showing up and collecting $11 million Just doesn’t cut it are you related to Mitch Marner

I agree with everything here 100%

It's always the fans' fault. Riiiightttt...

I'm about 50-50 on not watching Monday. PVR it ...quick erase if they blow it again.

I've watched this team for 40 years. I watch for an escape from stress not to add to it. Some are lucky in life and choose the right team. One day I'll be out of my misery. That day might be death at this rate.

I don't think I will tune in Monday either. I cannot watch them be eliminated in a game 7 by Montreal (of all the teams).
