Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 3-2 in OT | Down 3-0 in the Series

Blowing up the tean would be a huge mistake because they traded away their 1st round picks and have nothing coming up. Retooling is the answer not rebuiding. Blowing up sounds like an irrational fan after many years of disapointment, understandable, but not rational thinking.
Nothing about This team is rational. Safest bet is to tear it down.

If I am not mistaken...MM is the only one of the core 4 that has won a championship in his younger days. This is a problem...we have too many guys who have never willed their team across the finish line. AM was always the youngest player...same with Willy...JT I am not sure about...but he never won anything in Junior.

The worst part is it could have been helped along by signing Justin Williams instead of Patty Cakes Marleau. One of them knew how to win in big games....the other had is C taken away. We choose the supposed hungry vet over the guy who is named Mister Game 7. That was Lou catering to Babcock...not on Dubas...but Joe Thornton is on Dubas...same result except the trading of assets to get his stink off the team.
Willie win the WC after his first pro year. JT won WJC, WC and World Cup, think Olympics too.
Reilly won WC too, I think.

While we arent winning the series. I wouldnt be surprised when all the threads have moved on to offseason talks and all of a sudden we'll be like...hey the series is 3-2 wait a sec. The extra day to wednesday will have everyone moving on and mentally checked out. Quite possibly the core too. But just sayin, they better not pull me back in lol.

Those international wins are pretty much all star games compared to just a junior team winning like MM did with London. I don't count teams that have a lot of other good players that rise to the occasion. A rising tide floats the heaviest of boats it would seem...

Brodie and Rielly are great skaters. McCabe and Lilj are good skaters. Gio's slow, Holl and Schenn are pretty much what you expect. Feels very average from a speed perspective
While Brodie has great edge work he doesn't seem too fast anymore, McCabe I would peg as average to good while Lily hasn't been playing enough to be an influence. Definitely average to below average, particularly in straight line speed which seems to be what is killing them back there. Way to easy to get inbehind the defenders, some of that is obvious positional play but also when the leaf defenders slowly pivot to catchup the player is already gone.

Well the Knights wasn’t a MM team, they were stacked compare to other teams.

it’s just so depressing that we have the most talented core in this team’s history and they’re soft, lazy and complacent

We are cursed
Won’t say soft and lazy, but definitely complacent and always back away when there is just a hint of adversity

It feels like youre forcing a narrative you want to see. Pivoting to catch a player behind you is going to lead to issues almost every time. The breakaways against have largely been positional and decision making rather than speed.

Do you want to see them win game 4 and extend the series? Or would you rather just put them out of their misery? I don’t know, personally, I still hope to extend the season. Gimme one more game, at least. I just love playoff hockey when the Leafs are still playing. Love the anticipation on game day, and love watching when I have rooting interst. Once Leafs are out, it’s not as enjoyable watching the rest of the playoffs.

I want them to win the series. I dont believe they will, but thats what i want. I hope all of us do?

Can you imagine the Pens winning a couple of years from now with Dubas. Leafs fans would go ballistic.
Not that I'm cheering for them.
A couple of more years on them won't help. I doubt Sid will be there when they win their next cup. Dubas probably won't either but I look forward to him ruining another franchise.

I wouldn't say that, perhaps I used a bad example but in general the leaf defenders on average are quite slow. Definitely the slowest it has been in this cores era. Breakaways can be initiated due to bad positional play/decisions making but fast skating can help negate that and turn a clear breakaway into a pressured breakaway where your getting stick checked, lifts etc

Will you ever change your narrative or will this always be your agenda?
