Game 1 was aloof. Games 2 and 3 are games I'd like to have back. Could have been leafs leading series 2-1 if it wasn't for that dumb pass by marner in Game 2 and if they didn't allow the stupid last second powerplay goal tonight.

On the bright side all 3 games were relatively tight. Let's see what happens if they are able to win game 4.

PS: I also had the 2013-14 Kings in mind regarding being down 0-3 in the series.

We need a hero.

Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander all haven’t gotten it done against Florida.

Are we to turn to ….. Matt Murray to save us?

This team is nothing like those Kings. Marner wilts under the spotlight. I see one of two things happening next game: the Panthers rout us, or they take their foot off the gas, and Marner has a big game ONLY because the Panthers do that. And if that happens, Florida closes it out back in TO.
This core has been flawed from the start! We may be looking at yet another rebuild, and if so, it needs to start with Shanahan and Dubas! The only two players I would definitely want to keep if that were to happen would be Woll and Knies. To me, it’s become crystal clear that Keefe should never be a head coach again. Outcoached in every playoff series he’s been in, and has to be Marner’s biggest fanboy!

Hope he’s back but I don’t think O’Reilly resigns here after this round.
Why would he want to? Marner is a p***y in the playoffs, Nylander plays when he wants to, JT is now probably best suited to be either a 2nd or 3rd line LW, Matthews I’m not sold on as being your best player on a Cup winning team. I’d be shocked if he chose to resign here.

I know we see it from them every game and that's what we think now, but that does not mean that every team in the league looks at it that way. Even the worst and most toxic players are given many more chances, because someone wants to believe they just need a new change of scenery. I think anyone who thinks you wouldn't be able to get a mint for Auston Matthews is out of their mind. It only takes a couple teams to get into a bidding war. There are a couple dozen teams who would look at him or Marner or maybe even Tavares or Rielly as the missing piece they need.

They didn't do shit with him either, so...
As much as I feel it’s necessary, I can’t see MLSE going down the rebuild road. This core is flawed and will not win a Cup. I really feel Marner has now shown what he is, a great regular season player who cannot deliver in the clutch, in fact, he wilts under the pressure! Nylander plays when he wants to, and JT should no longer be considered a core player. For that matter, who on the team should be?
It’s hard to fathom this is where we are after Dubas was “gifted” this team. But ultimately, this was a flawed core!

Players waive NTCs on a very regular basis when they're no longer wanted or the teams situation changes
I dont see him waiving. Hes home with a young family. I just cant see it happening. We maybe able to move another contract or 2 or 3 somewhere else. I just dont see him waiving.

So f***ing depressing dubas traded away a 2025 1st. How do you even fully blow it up when you don't have that.

What a disaster this has all turned out to be. Signing Tavares was the beginning of the end. Made Matthews want more than 11m, made Marner want to be paid just as much, and then you just got God awful useless Tavares making 11m and can't win a match up to save his life.

Man f*** this franchise its honestly embarrassing cheering for them.

I mean if you decide to start the rebuild you eat the fact that one of your 1st is gone and bank on the return value of the players you are trading off setting that. Is what it is. I would imagine it will end up being more of a retool year then a complete blow up and start over again though.

1st bolded I agree to an extent but still....3gms 0gls
2nd bolded Isnt that what we say every year?
Sadly it is.

I guess I should have said Nylander has looked dangerous, but in the end he is paid to score too.

It wouldn't be, at least it would show the team had some fight.
I agree on the fight part. It would suck for my emotional breakdown

I think the vitriol is hilarious.

We have pieces that can be moved.

Panic after three game losing streak.

Gotta admit I only watched bits and pieces and I think it was going into the third where AM had his first shot on goal. It was tied in the third and I knew what was going to happen - glad I went to bed

Who do you think current management would move that would net us enough in return to turn this mess around

Matthews hit the post 2 mins into the game. I still can't figure out how it is not a shot on net. But your point remains true

Draisaitl has more goals in this years playoffs then Marner has in his entire playoff career. That is absolutely wild.
To be fair, Marner isn't a goal scorer, but I do agree that he's played pretty poorly. Last night was sad. He just isn't a playoff kind of player.

Can they even get anyone? Draft picks and prospects won't turn it around for a few years.

The fact WN and AM have 1 year left most likely means they don't bring back high impact roster players. You could still get a good return, but for down the road.

We have to hope somehow they turn this series around
