It was back when there were no real expectations

It’s a bullshit excuse seeing most young teams still pull off upsets. Devils this year, canucks a few years back. Colorado too. Just our team, as underdogs choke, as 50/50 choke and as superior’s choke too
I don't give a f*** about expectations I just want to win; I don't care who plays with heart and determination only to lose stop glorifying all these f***ing losers

Nylander was good. Marner was bad. Matthews wasn’t bad but not good enough. Reilly was good. JT was a third liner at 11m.

Like, they just have to take over the game, this core. It’s their responsibility. They did in round 1 at times when necessary but it hasn’t happened one bit this series. Just have to come over the boards and win the f*** out of your shift. It’s on them.

There's a big dumb overpaid defenseman in Edmonton named Darnell Nurse who played on the Soo and is from Hamilton. I always thought there was a greater than 0% chance he ends up in Toronto if Dubas' regime continues.
The D on this team. Terrible.

I didn't want to say it during the game, but Tkachuk is quite overrated. You'd think he was 1990 Mark Messier the way people hype him up. But he was barely a factor. And Barkov was slightly less invisible than Matthews.
He doesn’t have to do much. One little saucer pass and suddenly the leafs are inches away from a goal against. Their defence is better.
Watch this team trade Nylander to the Kings or something and then he just cuts our D to pieces when we play them.
Maybe this blue line was designed with Tampa and Boston in mind.

They all won games in the 2nd round a lot sooner though
Sure, I’m just saying it took them a long ass time and people ruled them out too. It’s not always linear. Sure wasn’t less than 8 years like implied.

They got a helluva lot closer than these losers.

Probably would've won it all if they didn't get screwed by Fraser...
excuses are for losers you don't get participation trophies for "coming close" or "getting screwed by Fraser" everyone post 67 is losers stop glorifying them for "heart and determination in a losing cause"

I don’t know why Keefe kept Matthews and Marner together all game. They sucked the whole time. Making literally any adjustment would’ve helped. He didn’t do shit.

He did the same f***ing thing the CBJ series and the Habs series till the very last f***ing second.

You expected that pinhead to "think"?

thats your fault not Keefe's fault that you expect him to "think" and make "adjustments"

;)

Lol come on…

Ovechkin was drafted in 2004 and won in 2018

Stamkos drafted in 2008 and won in 2020
What do you mean come on? I was legit asking as I had zero idea. Thanks for the details.

So 14 and 12 years... I am sure they won rounds and made finals and had some semblance of playoff success before they broke through. That is the problem with this bunch... how much value do the owners put on a single round win in 8 years? Is that enough to run it back?

You know who would have made a huge difference to this series? A healthy Jake Muzzin. Brodie let his man make a play on the winning goal without even trying to impede him , give and go around the net scores.

You need to be more physical with this Florida team. Brodie and Giordano have too much mileage it seems. Never thought they'd let me down like this. Huge fan of both. But they fell off and cost us.

My apologies.

Yeah they had some other series wins, I just mean it look them a long time and people ruled them out, especially Ovi.

Really shocked that you aren’t a coach in the NHL…
