You say this jokingly, but the reality is that Toronto is 100% going to lose Matthews and Nylander. Neither will be signing contract extensions in Toronto.
Good. Use that money to build a team that can win in the playoffs. Those guys will never get it done taking half the salary cap.

Every other remaining playoff team gets more from their core than the Leafs do. This core is a joke.
Carolina doesn’t even have 90% of their f***ing core and they get more from two guys: aho and necas

It's very clear from the post game interviews that the core have no intention of doing anything other than wrapping up the year Wednesday. No emotion or anger, just same old crap about sticking with it blah blah blah. They got their first round cup, it's time to kick back on the beach and enjoy their millions.

The weird thing about this series is that I can’t think of one player on the panthers that is having a stand out series. Bob has been quite good but not like Carey Price in the bubble. A lot of the panthers have been quite good but more or less guys like Tkachuck and Barkov are just out there playing decently. For the leafs O’Rielly and Acari and Schenn are working their asses off. Lafferty is playing well, kampf is playing better than one would image (he’s gone next year) and still the team just can’t find a way to look remotely dominant.

I didn't want to say it during the game, but Tkachuk is quite overrated. You'd think he was 1990 Mark Messier the way people hype him up. But he was barely a factor. And Barkov was slightly less invisible than Matthews.

Fine by me, deal their asses and get some return value

Build a traditional team with depth, heart, grit and from the back out

I swear each and everyone who comes on here and next year and starts blabbing on about a run I will quickly remind you about tonight. None on this team should be applauded next year. They failed

Cannot wait for the post-season presser

you what would be the best one?

MLSE just releases a digital note that there will be no presser as all the senior execs have been relieved of their duties including the coaching staff

exceptions: Hayley (she is a role model and a gem); and Pridham (b/c God knows we would need him to clean up Dubas' mess)

That was one of the softest OT goals I've ever seen. I don't think anyone even touched a Panthers player on that entire sequence.
Yup. For a goalie at that level to completely miss a player behind the net like that, the player had way too much time to make it happen

Nylander only one who bothered showing up.

Matthews had a 12 game point streak so it was due to end but he still could have been more of a factor.

If the big guys had lived up to their end of the bargain the Leafs are up 3-0.

2 goals every game from the depth. Thay ahould be more than enough if the top 6 did anything
It is so disheartening seeing other teams players snipe goals like Seattle just did. And then we have Matthews who never seems to snipe them in with his snap shot anymore. He's had so many chances in alone which used to be automatic, and now he cannot beat a goalie clean.

Back in the pat burns/pat quinn eras, the maple leafs had the veteran savvy, the coaching, the grit, the hustle, the attitude, the passion, the character, the goaltending and the heart. The leafs of the 1990s and early 2000s just lacked high-end skill/talent and youth.

Now the leafs just have the high-end skill/talent and youth and lack eveything else.

Fla player being allowed to cross the crease untouched at full speed. Not the fault of gm, coach, or goalie. The defense pairing failed. Scoring two goals. Not the fault of the gm or coach. The scoring lines failed. Same story same result for three games. Blame the skaters for not meeting reasonable expectations.
