I remember listening to Crosby and MacKinnon on the Chiclets podcasts a couple of years ago. A couple of weeks later I heard Matthews. I really got this casual "frat boy" vibe from him. Sid and Nate sounded like winners, Auston sounded like he was a kid who didn't have a care in the world.

I mean, he literally doesn't.

This series, yes. Although he was really good against Tampa and single handedly won us the 4:5 game
He had his moments for sure, let’s not act like he was a force all series, because we were mostly outplayed against TB. He’ been really uneven for me, it comes and goes, it’s rarely a catalyst. Guys like Clark, Gilmour, they put the team on their back and came up big every-time, I don’t see that with this “superstar”. He was a disgrace tonight for me.

Honestly, at this point there's not much to lose with the starting Murray. If he leads to a miracle the team ends up in the second round, if he plays well for a couple games and they still lose, he potentially ups, his trade value, and if he flops nothing really changes.
I like this line of thinking. It makes sense

I’m sure there a joke in there about taping a fork as well.

Who wants to get down and dirty eating wings with hands when you could eat them with a taped fork? Playoff hockey is just the same as exhibition hockey...:sarcasm:

I asked this in the gameday thread.

Are they are super sick? I know a ton of people just ruined by the flu right now.

Woll was good and you reward him with a playoff start and tell him the job is his for the taking

I hate being so emotionally invested in this team. Heartbreak after heartbreak and yet I keep coming back. I try to be optimistic but when you see a performance like that from our stars it’s a real gut punch.
You should be a casual fan like me. I checked out when they lost to Boston in 2013. It's better this way. Trust me. You can watch the games and not care as much. I still hope they win but I'm definitely no diehard. I may watch one or two games during the season and I'll just watch the highlights for the other games.

I think it’s come pretty easy for him, he plays like he can turn it on anytime and get his cookies. Mentally he isn’t a champion, and he’s doesn’t seem to be maturing to that destiny either. Playing with Mitch tonight was no picnic either, can’t recall a worse game from him.
