That was pretty much the best win Dubas could imagine: Karlsson scores, Acciari scores, Jarey plays like a monster. Comeback win at home.

On the other hand, Malkin sure has declined, he almost looks worse than Matthews now!

I think Matthews and Marner will play this badly the same way I think McDavid will barely be PPG this year...

I just don't see it, they are too good.
I sure hope they turn it around soon and finally carry it thru the playoffs

I'm not the type to rant and rave after every close loss... "Trade the core 4 for picks, we suck herp derp". But here we are...US Thanksgiving almost a quarter way in and we're...meh. Its time for Keefe to go. I think he's lost the room and his in game decisions are sub par at best. Tre has given him enough rope but it's not working. We need a Bond villain to show us the way from here on in...

Correct, this year, Matthews > McDavid.

They also have the same amount of Harts/Lindsays in the last 2 years.

People act like Matthews is some slouch... he was injured last year, this year is not playing great but is still contending for the rocket so far.
Ya don’t forget it’s not his fault the other team gets a hot goalie every post season.

Woll was ok'ish tonight. All the D men not named Brodie we're good enough; Brodie himself looking like an Austrailians nightmare the entire night.

Still though, you HAVE to score more than two goals if you except a a W in this league and with this team. First line did have some good looks at times and we did hit the crossbar late. Thing is though we were flying again in the 1st and didn't capitalize on some great chances. Oh well, get the mojo back at home...?

We are gonna regret the Matthews signing so bad

A top 10 Center swindled us into thinking he’s a top 3 player

Nylander will now proceed to score 6 in 10 and finish with ~80 points. At least we will ONLY have to pay him 9 million

Marner should stop playing hockey. Go play golf, no contact and probably have tons of hours put into it. He’s such a waste of an asset. Should’ve been dealt 4 years ago. I’d rather let him walk then sign him back, he takes playing for the leafs for granted.
I fully expect Nylander to fall off the face of a planet now. Likely goes 10 to 15 games without a goal now. This is a good thing though, he needs to be brought back down to planet earth.

Dubas ruined this team then gets the last laugh when his geriatric mess of a new team beats the pile of crap he assembled.

Some people are just born lucky

Graduating from a JOKE like Brock U; and then landing all the way into a multi billion dollar organization; given the key to its most important money maker out of nowhere

if that isn't lucky I don't know what is

Woll was trash. All those goals were easy saves. He is a AHL goalie.

The lack of hands on Brodie McCabe and Gio is getting unbearable. We easily pot 2 goals in the 3rd with some skill on the backend that could keep the plays alive.

But marner and matthews playing well can overcome any issue during the regular season. These 2 put up 4 game win streaks even when Campbell was averaging 4 GA
We can’t breakout pucks under pressure because our D have stone hands, average at best foot speed and don’t do anything particularly well. Not to mention they’re mistake prone.

We desperately need a mobile top 4 two-way D.

Nylander was once again the most dangerous forward for the Leafs. Points haven't been there the last two games (due for some regression), but his game hasn't changed
I feel it has a little, but not enough to be concerned (yet). I mean, how long do he, JT and Bert have to carry this team?

He's no slouch but from everything we've seen in the past, the levels he's hit, the engagement he's shown. he's a complete slacker.

In hindsight should have drafted Ranta or better yet, traded down and drafted Ranta.

You think he built up a 17 game point streak "for show" ?

Interesting take, especially considering Nylander has generally been our most consistent forward the last several years.
Maybe show wasn't the right word.

What I meant was, that Sweden trip was a big motivator... so with that carrot gone, I am wondering how that consistency plays out. Don't necessarily expect him to keep a 100 point pace, but looking for him to at least match his career high.

Again, not saying it will happen, but it has been something I have thought about.

We need defenceman who aren’t scared to take a hit to make a play

Any reason to find an excuse, this team is on the case. Tired my effing ass. The other teams who played in Sweden don't look tired. I'm fckn tired of watching this shit though, I'll tell you that.

What we get from this team is so middling but people will always find reasons to let the core guys off the hook. They haven't been the same since Daylight Savings ended. Maybe the humidity levels are wrong at the rink. Have you even checked the PH levels in the Chicago tap water. It was Black Friday yesterday. It's a Leap Year next year.

Do you really think he'd carry on at 130 point pace?

Post-crossbar-post ... had to end and that usually requires a reset.

Still looked like the best option for puck control and distribution.
It's a long season. Let's see how it plays out. Hope I am wrong, like I said.

He got robbed on that play from Friday.

I expect him to match his career high at least I guess.

Marner and matthews are fake worries once you calm down.

Even before firing GM in summer we were going to head into season with trash D and trash goaltending. That's the real worry and the only one you should actually be angry about.

We will need matthews marner nylander and tavares all playing well to compensate. But at least that can be possible whereas fixing problems in a couple months (summer to game 19) would be impossible.

It's hilarious to me how many fair-weather fans are totally flabbergasted with the idea that the highest paid player in the league should be the most noticeable, dominant player on the ice most nights, like it's some sort of unrealistic or unfair expectation.
