I know you guys are mad, but please be respectful to the players... They are human beings, the personnal attacks and all the "piece of shit" comment is uncalled for.

Dont know if you know this, but one of Montreal most skilled player (Jo Drouin) left the team because of a depression. Rumor has it that it was because off all the personnal attacks he received on social media. Comments a bit like the one we are seeing here.

Just never forget it is just a game and they are human beings
Are you for real?

Your facts are not that fun by the way .

No unfortunately they are not. I've been sitting on this one all season too ready to post "This is the first Leafs game in June in history!" but sadly this team decided not to take that opportunity

the fact that none of them are mad. super sad. in tears, cursing. just
"yeah. there's no excuse. we weren't good enough." like "yeah, we forgot the milk and it sucks, but we can make due."

I gave McDavid/Draistil grief about this so same is for gander.
Matthews and Marner loooked more excited about winning the Rocket than they look gutted blowing an amazing chance for themselves.. They were not good enough. there was no ownership in this loss from their point of view. it was just like. "yeah. there's nothing more to be said, sorry ma, i forgot the milk."

If they don't care, why should I?

I don’t know Jack Campbell was pretty damn broken up...you could see it

Nathan Mackinnon - 6.3 mill
Marner- 10.9
Mathews - 11

Can you say MISMANAGEMENT
Not comparable dude. Mackinnon had 24 goals and 63 points in his rookie year , which was his career high. Matthews scored 40 in his rookie year and Marner had 90+ points before his contract. Hell, even he admitted he thought he might end up being a bust too but he blew up after he signed that contract, not before like Marner and Matthews.

Don’t hold out for $11 million contracts in a hard cap league if your feelings are going to be hurt by criticism of your abysmal performance. You want to be paid? You better perform. If you don’t perform? Be prepared to be ripped apart.

They have Vasy and beat the system because there is no cap in the playoffs. Adding Kutvherov at playoff time is criminal.
It’s a “Lou esque” cap circumventing move, bravo for bending the rules, that’s creative management.

Injuries are no excuse. It's the same problem they've had every post season with this core. The forwards don't score when it counts.

Can this core work? I really doubt it, now. How many tries do they deserve?

I couldn't watch game 7, and I'm glad I didn't.

Just a coaching change and shuffling around bottom 6 pieces around won't do anymore. The core has to be next.

This is why bridges make so much sense. Keep the players hungry to prove themselves. Even if they do you're probably breaking relatively even on salary if you were giving $11M dollars anyways.

Making Dubas our GM at such a critical time ruined this rebuild cycle.
Totally agree, this franchise was ruined when Dubas signed JT and paid Marner that kind of money.

Gets easier to take every year. Don't know why anyone expected ant different.

I actually haven't watched a single game 7 (or 5) since the first Boston series. It helps not to be disappointed in real-time and much easier to detach oneself from the team.

I may not even watch much next season. Too many other things far more valuable to spend my time doing. I wonder, would anyone even celebrate if they somehow advanced to the second round next year? It kind of feels like too little too late now.

I still can’t believe that we didn’t see Andersen once during this series. He’s lights out against the Canadiens

Shanahan’s a complete mystery, how a player of his ilk has let the team be built that resembles nothing like what I’d imagine a Shanahan team to be is beyond me? Wonder if he still has the stones to have a beer at the Blue Goose?
Shanahan needs to step in a right the ship.

Not Dubas.
His big brother style is good for assistant GM, helping Robertson, Sandin types transition to the NHL.

But there is no core accountability and he (Dubas) is too close defending the things we said were problems. To much cap on 4 forwards. The core not built for playoff grind. Etc.

I have a good intuition. I knew the series was over during the incident that happened with John Tavares. I said it in front of my immediate family. Its was a bad omen and a sign of how the series will pan out. Too many unproductive and and unmotivated 'professional hockey players' that cant be counted on when things really matter the most. Shameful and totally disgusting how things panned out. Team should be accountable as a whole but the majority of our 'big studs' should be embarrassed of them selves. We'll just read all week from these brain dead clowns in interviews all kinds of mumbo jumbo cookie cut responses like 'obviously its frustrating' and brush it under the rug I suppose. I make too much sense i know.

Leafs in a black hole. Dunno where they go from here.

i thought keefe was awful. If dubas wants to keep him tell dubas to pack his bags too.
I dont understand how joe thornton was playing. He got outched back to back years against the same game plan. Just awful

Team looked good on paper... problem was team effort.

Poor defense, weak goaltending and lack of offense. They need to look for a goalie in the off-season because Andersen is getting slow and Campell isn't ready

Leafs will continue to spin their wheels year in and year out with Matthews and Marner at the top. Regular season performers who can't elevate their games come playoff time.

I really don't give a shit who stays and who goes now. From management on down
Odds are nothing will change anyway.
I don’t trust the core, I don’t trust management at this point.

So another offseason of rearranging the bottom 6, finding next year’s Thornton/Simmonds and telling us how the core is mentally tougher after going through these types of battles.

That’s what I expect.
Something about the definition insanity or something.

@Trapper nailed it.

Dubas is too close to what he built to make changes.

With all the firepower. With all the investment in “analytics.” With his coach.

The Leafs only out scored Montreal in 1 out of 11 periods of hockey with the series on the line.

The team they went 7-2-1 against. The team they finished 18 points up on in a 56 game season.

1 out of 11 periods of hockey with the series on the line.

frig me
