That's a 1/4 of the season so far, not just a few games. For $11 million per year I sure hope the 1C is elite at FO's and generating 3rd assists. What do you think the forwards that get paid as much as him do?
i have been hard on JT the past few years, with good reason imo. but hes been good this year, turning the puck over WAY less and on pace for 40 goals and about a point per game which is what JT has always been around. also, this team has been top 5ish in goals the past 3 years, but we are like 21st in goals for this year, points have been down for everyone besides willy, including marner and matthews.

Leafs finding ways to win with or without stellar goaltending. Nice to see the offensive touch being brought back a little more recently.

Murray doing a little Jekyll and Hyde, two bad games out of his last three. Hope this isn't a trend, it has been for him the last five years prior.

Against tampa it was not really a bad game it was just a bad goal. But tonight yes, it was easily his worst game of the season by far

but the more important thing, leafs find way to win it. Vs dallas murray stole it for the team but tonight the team in front won it for Murray.

Sloppy game by the team and Murray. First one in a while. Needed the offense to help out today and the big guys stepped up. Nylander is amazing and Marner and Auston did their part.
Also Sheldon we weren't serious when we said put Kampf in OT
Maybe we were???
undefeated with kampf starting, never lost!!

Love to see it. If Timmins can stay healthy and get back on track, he could be a steal for us.

Really liking what I'm seeing from Timmins so far. Looks steady under pressure, seems to make good decisions most of the time and good passes. As you say if he can stay healthy it would be pretty cool if he could live up to the high opinions that some people had of him leading up to his draft year. Don't know why anyone got pissed about giving up Curtis Douglas for him. 😃😀🙂

My take on that is -- he's seen enough of Simmonds. After that atrocious penalty, I don't think Simmonds saw the ice the rest of the game. It's really too bad because I don't think anybody wants to see a legend go out this way, but, he's a complete detriment out there.
The Maroons et al get to facewash, take liberties after whistles. They don’t play on hockey night in Canada on Saturday night and don’t play for teams that are universally despised, especially teams in the Canadian hinterlands. It is what it is

it was before they heard timmins was 6'2, then they calmed down a bit lol.
in all seriousness if they had read alot of his scouting reports he was pretty highly regarded. very solid move. hes been injured alot so his stock has dropped but hes got some serious upside in my opinion

Wasnt his best night and he still had a beauty setup to Nylander late in regulation that Willy flubbed. Had a few other nices chances of his own he missed on

lucky to get the win tonight. murray was down right awful.

Ugly game, take the win and on to the next.

Jets fan here, wow you guys are looking very good right now, top to bottom. Need those guys up front to step up when your goalie has an off game and that's exactly what makes a very good team. When one group has an off game (offense, defense or goalie) the other 2 pitch in. Think both teams would be very tough to beat in 7 come playoffs if both play like how they are. Definitely think it's your year to get past that 1st round bump this year no matter which team you play (Tampa, Boston or whoever).

You need to follow another sport. He didn't produce tonight but he was solid, works his ass off on every shift and is a beast along the boards.
Agreed. Hes our Faceoff King as well.
Hes never noticeable on his bad nights cause his 2 way play is also very good.
This guy also goes and crashes the net more than any other leaf.

JT will pick it up when the other Amigos cool off or are shutdown

Well it is good that few, if any, players match him in the NHL in those regards then.

They do exactly what he is doing now. They find ways to be dominant even when they do not rack up points and are consistently effective.

Safe to say, I am not worried about a random 7 game stretch in the middle of the season when he didn't put up a ton of points, and even less so when he is still playing extremely well.
