Habs are going to be in cap hell with a crap team :yo:

doesnt get much better!

I want Price to be just good enough to give them pick outside of the top 5, but seriously, that team is hot garbage.

We're definitely better, even with Reimer/Scrivens.

It'll certainly be a dandy against Buffalo monday night.

And remember that we have so much talent backed up there.. Gardiner, Reimer, waiting to show how they play the game. And these guys already played THIS good.... damn we have good chance this saeson. With so many linebackers and quarterbacks this rock team can really go all out and do it.

I can't really take anything away from this game. Montreal is brutal.

I liked what I saw from Komarov though. Kadri looked solid.

Indeed, we'll see what we have when we play against an actual NHL calibre team. Liked that as a whole the team played a smart, low risk game. Kadri did pretty much everything tonight. Kessel was sharp. Liked on the other end how Emelin is always just rubbing guys out. Hated that stupid "throw my head back" move by Markov. It frankly disgusts me.

I'm not too worried about Buffalo, really they aren't that skilled only reason they're "good" is because of Miller. The team that really worries me is Pittsburgh, a healthy Crosby and Malkin= massive problems for the leafs.

I think Buffalo will be pretty tough. On paper they look pretty good

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Leino-Grigorenko-Ott
Scott/Gerbe-McCormick/Hecht-Kaleta

That top line will be dangerous and that 2nd line had really good chemistry last season. That 3rd line could cause troubles too. Miller is usually great against us.

Always nice to start the year off with a win, but the team obviously has a long way to go if they want to be a playoff team. Had this effort been against a better team it may not have ended well for us. Tough to really get a read on our team since Montreal played pretty bad overall.

But hey, it's the first game in quite some time. Rust was expected on both sides. Every point counts in a short season like this, so I'm happy with the result.

The Habs need Subban badly.

I thought Phaneuf looked a lot quicker than last year, Kostka to me was the best d-man out there. He and Dion had good chemistry. Liles also looked good. Franson, and Gunner were average, Komi, man he's got to go imo.

Kadri had a couple hiccups but looked pretty solid, great goal. Bozak put in a strong effort. I thought Mac had a decent game as well, the fourth line did alright. It was kind of a snoozer, but if I had to pick the best line tonight, it would be Komarov, Kadri & JVR.

Ben looked a bit nervous, especially playing the puck, but he made some big saves!

Kessel, his compete level is just atrocious imo. But I'm not a fan of his anyways.

It's always a great feeling beating the Habs!

Enroth might start Monday, Buffalo plays tomorrow against Philly, So Miller might start that game

Beat the Habs. Not going to get overly excited about that but I definitely saw some good things tonight. Kadri was very noticeable tonight. Kostka looked good, and it seems that Carlyle really trusts him. If he plays like he did tonight I think a case could be made that Franson should be the one to take a seat when Gardiner is good to go.

Detroit might need a defenseman a little more after tonight. All good.
