I hope Slaf has a better outing tonight. He looked like a pretty average prospect in his last game against the Leafs.

Also, good to see Monahan back on the ice.

Lineup looks like the potential opening night roster minus Sandin.

Not sure why Abruzzese deserves a spot as he has been virtually invisible. Doubt that he makes the opening roster.

He's also Waiver exempt, so there is that... he'll be with the Marlies for sure. The opening night roster really depends on who is healthy enough for now.

These six guys are the ones that are battling for the last spots. Robertson, Aston-Reese, Holmberg, Steeves, Gaudette, Malgin

Tavares, Engvall, Kampf, Jarnkrok out tonight... Once everyone is healthy, I think ZAR is signed, really leaving these guys battling for one spot. I believe Holmberg is waiver exempt, so he likely gets sent down, unless he does something incredibly special. (So are Steeves and Robertson) I think Gaudette is on the outside right now, but we shall see... It's kind of between Malgin and Robertson, and we will have a couple of more games to see how that plays out, maybe more if injuries persist. Anderson they might as well put on waivers now.

I am actually quite surprised at the depth of the roster being played here tonight.

Still 3 more pre-season games. I thought the roster would more resemble the AHL squad that we put out on Saturday.

Played our AHL squad last game. Most of these guys haven't played in a while.

Seeing as he has been "signed" all summer think the Leafs wait until after the start of the season to make it official and help with the cap? Say wait until Lily goes on ltir and we save having to waive someone

Wish the Habs picked top five more often. Works out so well for them.
As much as the thought of the Habs whiffing on this years draft pick (or all of their draft picks TBH), I think it is at least 3 years pre-mature to speculate on anyone drafted this year.

I think we need to focus on our own, starting with Robertson and hoping he continues to develop.

Fixed

Agreed. McMann is a guy fighting for a spot, not Abruzzese, at least based on what I've seen in the preseason games
