I really hope a certain poster can get it through their head that this is a GOOD thing.

I assume the world was always like this but the world today.. Most people are not looking for a discussion. It's almost like a computer program that looks for the break and just quits thinking and doing what it was doing. If people see certain trigger words, they simply exit the discussion and spew their beliefs even if not applicable.

On our board, mostly that word is Dubas.

"Dubas donated 1M to sick kids this weekend"

HF: DUBAS IS AN IDIOT 2004 1967 we aren't winning anything with him in charge.

Two words I could seriously go a full season without hearing, “Ottawa” and “Montreal”. It gets old…

Agreed but I think that is something management wants to work on this season. This team will have that flaw for sure and a lot of teams do, they will have those nights. But I think they want the team to treat each opponent the same in preparation, and the reason being that this group can't get it done when they have all the momentum.

So I think the goal this season really is to get as close to winning the pres trophy as we can. The group's goal is going to be to draw a bubble team in round 1 and have worked through the bad habits of playing down by then so they hopefully sweep them or come close to it.

Let's say Buffalo or Ottawa makes it and we face them round 1. This team should smell blood. Who the f are they to beat the Leafs without paying their dues? Leafs locker room went through the losses so it's not a lack of respect it's "sorry kid you'll get your turn".

Losing to another Montreal type opponent I don't think the franchise, locker room, fan base, etc could handle that. We'd see a full blown retool. But for some reason, I trust them to get it done this time.
Not sure about the Sabres, as our boys were really bad against them last season. Lol

1. Kerfoot back on the PP after not playing there at all last year.

2. Gio getting the 2nd PP slot ahead of Sandin. Which is probably the right move. Gio on the top unit might not even be a bad idea tbh.

3. Tavares back on the top unit (where Bunting was filling in) is a pretty sure sign he's playing tomorrow.

The emergency replacement is a stupid rule but if it's a rule it would be even dumber to not take advantage of it
Leafs tell Nic Robertson making $800k he is in competition for a NHL spot, and then tell him he can't play after making the team because management can't fit his salary under the hard cap ceiling, and will be playing a man down.

He can only be recalled in an emergency basis and then regardless of play need to be sent down again once a player returns.

I wouldn't say choosing to play games with 17 skaters intentionally is taking advantage of a Cap rule designed in case during the seasons injuries mount. :)

Leafs by 7, Matthews and Nylander score a hat trick each. This Montreal team is gonna go through some growing pains this year, that blue line is just...Sucks the money didn't allow Robertson to start with the Leafs, he definitely deserved a spot

zeke, thanks for posting the twitter stuff. I don't keep up with it during work so it's great to come on here and get up to date.

The whole cap space for filling out a roster has been exaggerated. Wanted a better bottom 6 and on paper this looks better. Goaltending is questionable but let it play out and see how it goes. It could surprise.

I don’t care how the cap juggling works as long as they ice a team and win.

Well looks like we’ll have a full lineup after all, but you never know. I would still wait until tomorrow’s lineup submission before spamming TMLSE with fire Dubas requests.

i expect the 4th line to be laying out hits. Hemming then in the I zone.

There is a reasonable possibility that you see Auston Matthews on the ice at the same time as Caufield, Monahan, Dach, Xhekaj and Wideman.

Let that sink in.
