Is there any angle where that would make sense? To not lose Kerfoot..? Give me McCann over Kerfoot ever day, twice today. His offensive ceiling and younger age are way more valuable than a small guy with no shot and max 40 pt tweenerIf we traded for McCann just to lose him at the expansion draft that's a puzzling move
No, they won't.
Regardless, it's clear changes will be made. It's July 18th.
If Holl is protected over McCann/Kerfoot... I don't get it. Dermott is understandable.

that's because liljegren isn't good enough, and holl is the better player.
I prefer for them to be scathed - team needs change, bringing back all 3 of Kerfoot, Holl, Dermott is running back mediocrity with decent NHLers who aren't and likely never will be difference-makers. Bogo is way more of an impact player than Holl or Dermott, he's actually a bit tough to play againstOutcome 1: kraken take anyone but Mccann - awesome, we took advantage of the situation to get Mccann cheap (hallander+ 7th)
Outcome 2: we make side deal, they take anyone but Mccann- likely still awesome, but depends on the side deal, acquidition cost on Mccann now includes whatever we gave up
Outcome 3: they take MCcann- our side deal was Hallander + 7th to come through expansion unscathed
Can you explain the logic behind yesterday's trade? Because it looks like a shield for Holl, Kerfoot and Dermott.
They're going to have more high end talent than Vegas did. Voracek and Tarasenko are first line forwards. Will likely also grab either Johansen or Duchene. They'll be a good team.Seattle is going to have an amazing team.
Lots of quality players to choose from on top of the UFAs that are out there. They could win the division.![]()
I found it interesting that Vegas is excluded from the ED. So in a nutshell every other team loses a player and is slightly weakened. Keep doing what you do Gary.

Hope so - that would be a valuable 2.8m net to have in the bank (700k diff between McCann and Hyman), to go with Andersen's 5m - that would enable some flexibility to properly fill in the LW1 hole and let McCann own the 3c spotOne thing giving me some comfort is a lot of people still seem to think Seattle will take Kerfoot. Might be an understanding between the teams, or Hakstol wanting a familiar face.
Gonna be an agonizing wait to find out tho

wohhh... I didn't know that. What the hell? What was the justification that was given to allow this?
they’ve been in the league what? 4 years?
Vegas only has been in the NHL for 4 years so having them participate in the expansion draft was looked at as unfairwohhh... I didn't know that. What the hell? What was the justification that was given to allow this?
Brilliant piece of work to make sure we have either Kerfoot or McCann I would say.
Don't see this roster constructed with them both on the team.
QUESTION
Do we have enough forwards to go 7-3-1 in the expansion draft?
Need to leave 2 exposed correct??

If I'm drafting for Seattle I'm taking McCann as Kerfoot has even been able to score double digit goals since arriving in Toronto.
