Let's see if they can make it 5 in a row.
Woll should get the net back for this one.

Has the team practiced yet today?
Losing McCabe is such a huge blow to this team. McCabe, our goalies and Marner to some extent are the unsung hero's of this year IMO

Having a physical, fearless Dman is huge for this squad. We don't need a purebred enforcer if we have Dmen like McCabe.

Love the guy and hope hes back soon.

Go leafs go

I don't know about unsung, but the hero list must include Tanev. Tanev, McCabe, Marner and the goalies are the heroes so far this season. I just hope Marner can play in the playoffs the way he's playing now, and of course I hope everyone's healthy for the playoffs - we're not very deep as a team so an injury to even one key player would be hard to overcome.

Your definition of 'some extent' needs work.
Tanev, McCabe, Marner, Nylander and the Goalies have been the obvious MVP's.

It may have technically happened during the second COVID shortened season because of the stupid Canadian division?
I'm pretty sure there were no conferences during the Canadian division season -- just 4 divisions whose winners were reseeded to determine the semi-final matchups.

With Washington out of action tonight, A win for Toronto would put them in first in the conference... Technically tied, and even more technically, behind, since Washington would have two games in hand.

Still, that would be pretty huge. When was the last time the leafs led the conference this late into a season? My guess is that it was during the 1993-94 season, before the lead they had built up with the 10 game winning streak had faded away. Does anyone know of a time more recent than that?

I believe in '03-'04 the Leafs led the Eastern Conference (and NHL) standings in points around Christmas time. They had a 16 game point streak that propelled them to the top of the Conference.

I don't know if they were still in first by January. I don't think they've led the East once in points beyond November since the 2004/2005 Lockout.

The Flyers are pretty bad.

I want to see the Leafs not only win but play better than they have been lately. They have a good enough roster that they can win games often without being at their best, but I find it disconcerting that they're being outshot in every single game as of late. Hopefully they put a solid 4-1 beating on Philly tonight.

Might have happened with those early 2000’s teams at some point. I think we won the division at least few times, must have been hanging around the top of the conference a bit at least?
