Hainsey's steady defensive play is what really let Rielly play his offensive game and put the totals up he did.
Hainsey wasn't providing steady defensive play at that point, and Brodie has been WAY better defensively than Hainsey, so that's a pretty silly argument.
Hainsey's existence didn't magically double Rielly's shooting percentage (for one season only, no less).

Hainsey's presence didn't double Rielly's shooting percentage.
Hainsey was actually a surprisingly steady defensive presence. I'm not even a Babcock guy but it was impressive how much he got out of Hainsey.

With your account registered after the 2018 season, I'm not even convinced you followed the team in that year because you seem to know nothing about the players from that team.

I only registered here a year later than you, so it's weird you're trying to play that game. You don't need to have an account on this silly site to follow the Leafs.
Also, Hainsey was still here and Rielly's big season came in 2018-2019, which is after I joined, so not even sure what you're talking about.
I've been following the Leafs for longer than you, and I seem to know way more about what happened than you do.

Hainsey was steady defensively at times throughout his career, but with us in his late 30s, he struggled.
You may misremember because it was years ago, and our team overall was bad defensively so he didn't really stick out as much, but it doesn't change the facts.
Babcock played him too high in the lineup, on a pairing that didn't work very well.
Hainsey also didn't magically make Rielly's shooting percentage double (but only in one of the two years he was with him, for... reasons), but that should be obvious.

Not if I can help it. I'm like 0-5 when betting on the Leafs and like 0-3 betting against them. I'm taking the Flames for $5 tonight, when we win, you're all welcome.

Last year for Game 7 vs TB I was thinking how much is a series win worth. Chickened out in the end, not worth it for just 1 round.

I'll give some grace as there are currently a lot of new guys in the room and the team needs time to gel.... But man, if they come out tonight as flat as yesterday the grace period will end real quick.

Hope they have a better effort tonight. Mind you they were only four more disallowed goals away from winning last night. No back to back stinkers pls

How did Brodie slide into a Hainsey - Holl discussion? Oh never mind.

Apparently for some folks it's not good enough to argue for 5 pages about what is currently happening and current things.

We also have to argue for 5 pages about things that happened 4-5 years ago and are as about as relevant as the hair on a mooses ass....

Good times for sure! :)

Welcome back @Teeder Keon. Speedy recovery to you sir!

Now, frigging Go Leafs Go!!!!

How did Brodie slide into a Hainsey - Holl discussion?
The individual was attempting to argue that Rielly's shooting percentage spiked in one of the two years Hainsey was playing with Rielly because Hainsey was so awesome defensively, but beyond the many other issues with such a statement, the whole underlying premise of the theory falls apart when you notice that Brodie's been his main partner for years and is miles better defensively than Hainsey was.
