Dermott has been much better than Bogosian this season and historically
I guess but lets be honest, once he was brought in, Bogosian was playing. I don't think it's a big deal unless he was awful.
Don't get me wrong, I prefer Dermott and Lehtonen in, but when you chase after an element, this is what happens.

Not sure why Keefe is burying Dermott this year either. Very questionable decision

I'm chalking it up to Bogosian being the only guy to do something about Tkachuk on the D. I mean that from a physicality POV and also the one guy didn't hesitate to push the guy off our goalie after he leg dropped him. If it becomes a trend (Bogo in, Dermott out) moving forward I'll have more issue.

And, Lethonen needs to play. Demott is the only option to swap out. They have a 4 day break coming up so he needs to get in. So I can understand that.

Anyone know when the last time a player was suspended for doing something against the leafs? And know where to find this information?

Saw a post somewhere that tabulated all suspensions for the Leafs and all those for other teams for actions against the Leafs.

Since 2010, it's something like 13 suspensions against Leafs players totalling 45 games, and 1 suspension totalling 1 game against other teams for what they've done to us.

Keep in mind we've generally been a softer team for the bulk of the last 10 years... So if anything, you'd think it'd be the other way around.

I think media is a big factor. TSN, Sportsnet, HNIC, etc are trying to not appear biased towards the Leafs, so instead they take it too far the other way and call for suspensions against us, while saying anything that happens to us is just part of hockey.

Have no idea why Bogosian has a stranglehold on that 3rd pairing spot. I guess since we all thought he would be horrendous and he's simply been replacement level bad?

The way I look at this is Dermott could still be part of the long-term plan here, and he's been a very capable 3rd pairing guy for 2 years. I don't think anyone is arguing Bogosian is part of the long-term future of this team. Hell, when Muzzin and Rielly were out last February Dermott was playing his best hockey ever. Then in the summer they talk about playing him on the right side, maybe in the top 4. All of a sudden he's getting scratched while Bogosian is unquestionably always in the lineup? I Inderstand needing to know Lehtonen is because he will surely bolt without regular playing time, but I don't like sacrificing Dermott's ice time and confidence to do it.

Excited to see how Boyd and Anderson play. Won't catch most of this game due to start time, however.

Dermott:
53 cf% | 66.7 GF% | 51.7 xGF% | 57.1 scf% | 58.7 hdcf%

Bogosian:
51.4 cf% | 33.3 GF% | 43.9 xGF% | 49.4 scf% | 42.4 hdcf%

Very interesting decision by Keefe to keep the guy who's getting destroyed in goals and high danger chances in a 3rd pairng role in the lineup over the guy who is doing fine. Simmonds being on the 3rd line over Engvall is a similarly nonsensical decision

1. Bogo's weakest numbers seem to come from odd-pairing minutes which look like post-PK minutes when the expiring PK is still stuck in its own end.

2. Bogo has been the full time 2nd PK pairing with Brodie. Not sure Keefe wants to break that up.

3. Bogo is RHD.

Very excited to watch Anderson tonight. I have a feeling that line is going to absolutely dominate 5v5.

Keefe kind of sewering Kerfoot though. Simmonds & Vesey have been big drags this season. Vesey has at least been okay with JT/Will, but man Kerfoot is most likely gonna have a rough night unless he simply doesn't pass the puck.

With this lineup I'd prefer to see:

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Engvall-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Anderson
Vesey-Boyd-Simmonds

...but we're a Simmonds out for Thornton from having a "perfect" forward lineup. Benching Dermott makes me wanna throw up.
