someone is really obsessed about soft this soft that, wanting hard this and hard that....

Simmonds won’t be on the ice with those guys.

The players saw it for what is was and they want fall for his tricks and do anything stupid.

If they are mad and want retribution for anything it would’ve the slash on Willy.

It's possible to send out Simmonds for a shift or two whenever, not a problem.

It doesn't have to be Simmonds, most people on our team should be able to send a message to Gaudreau.

It's not about being mad, it's about sending a message that if you take liberties with our players (especially the goalie), there will be a price to pay.

You gotta protect the goalie man, this shouldn't have to be explained.

I go

Engvall-Kerfoot-Anderson
Vesey-Boyd-Simmonds

Probably the best third line that can be made right now, but I like the idea of letting Anderson earn a promotion to the third line. No doubt he will be ready to prove just that tonight. Simmonds shouldn't be getting more than 4th line minutes and some PP2 time IMO.

Im going to wait and see how our 4th line looks tonight....but honestly just seeing Spezza not on there makes me happy.

Other than Faceoffs, this dude honestly isn't good at anything else. I know he's sitting tonight due to "rest" but I'd much rather see someone else on that 4th line

Considering so many people in this thread want Retribution tonight....thought I would point that out.

Leafs should probably just focus on beating them on the scoreboard.

thats all i care for. humiliate them 10-0 on the scoreboard. worst thing that can happen tonight is, losing and no "retribution" . Just win. win big. and dont let up.

Two things on the top of my list of things to watch out for (in no particular order):

1)
What do we do about the gutless puke? It better not be nothing. I say we take a page from Wendel Clark's book and do something to one of their stars, Gaudreau for example. It doesn't have to be anything too far out of line but enough to make a statement (slamming him hard into the boards should do) and then whoever does it tells Gaudreau that every time gutless puke takes liberties with our players there will be similar payback. Let their stars decide which they'd prefer - tell gutless puke to behave himself or suffer the consequences?

2)
Lehtonen should finally get a decent amount of ice time. I have high hopes for Lehtonen and am very interested indeed!

Agreed it better not be nothing. Guys like Tkachuk don't stop with their nonsense until something drastic gets done.

I want to win in the playoffs and if someone injures our goalie (or any of our players), that would hurt our cause. Sending a message now will help us ice a healthier team for when it really counts.

Sticking up for each other should be normal course of business, but I highly doubt that happens. Again, I see the slash on Nylander as the number one reason to send a message, not Tkachuk’s silliness.

Simmonds vs Calgary 1 ppg 11+ minutes ice time
Tkachuk vs Leafs. 1 ppg 22 minutes ice time

This is the net front battle statics So far. I think Tkachuk is leaving the game bleeding tonight

Guys like Tkachuk don't stop, period.

He loves all the noise. We've played him once this season, and he has an entire fambase rattled - it's hilarious.

Beat them on the ice. Don't let him be a distraction. 2 points, move on.
