Not much to discuss for this one. The intention was for the Leafs to lose. If you bet on this sport you're an idiot.
Leafs have no one to blame but themselves when they can't score a powerplay goal worth a damn with all the skilled players on this team. Someone mentioned the Leafs have the 8th most PP opportunities this season so far and if they can't take advantage of all those chances then that's on them.

Matthews and Marner way too cute as usual.

Imagine Matthews was worth even half his contract? Just embarrassing, honestly. At his best he’s definitely a 13+ million player but the thing is, players should get paid that much for consistency, not potential. Brutal.

not a good sign our worst games still come when the other team mucks it up and forchecks like a playoff game

It is amazing how the Leafs just follow the playbook that we all know. Up and down, very frustrating team that will start the season slow, eventually get it together enough to make the playoffs, play no-where near the best team in the league....I could go on and on but it is the same every year.

The stars are simply paid too much for what they give you. Paid too much to allow for the bottom of the roster to be filled with a little more help.

We are on repeat, its groundhog day with this team year...after year..after year.

I think the title is a little harsh. The 1st and 3rd were solid, although not dominant, periods. We did end up out-shooting them 38-26 and a few bounces in the 1st could've/should've put us up 2 or 3-0. The problem tonight was in the 2nd: they got filled in and couldn't recover.

I liked the effort in the second half of the 3rd. The McCabe hit was a beaut. Lorentz managed to pull us within one with a little help from Kampf at a time when our forward group looked snake-bitten.

Sucks that the officials decided again to tilt their hands on the scale in this one (Matthews penalty should have been evened up at worst and a lot of blatant interference, hooks, grabs, and even what looked like might have been a high stick in the last couple minutes).

Don't know where to begin with the PP. It continues to be beyond atrocious.

At least it was somewhat normal of a loss as in you didn’t get the doors blown off and there were some spirited moments but you gotta show up for Chief.

I can't stand Matthews' lackadaisical play until the last 5 minutes of the game every night. He's also been fumbling the puck and making shitty passes all over the place. Wake up kid, we need you.

The boys wanted this one and I appreciate the pushback.

Also shout out to this site for being basically unusable on mobile - what the hell is with these ads? I have loved my many years here but I am teetering on leaving.

The best thing Matthews did tonight was take a roughing penalty and I don’t even mean that sarcastically. This is going to be a lost season for him the way things are going. Terrible response for having the captaincy and biggest paycheque in the league.
