This was a very deflating loss, particularly because of how terrible our top line played. There is a template to neutralize them and Blues did that tonight.

I have no faith that they can take us to glory.

The good news is that Matthews will be a first ballot hall of famer. This is just a blip but management needs to know what they have here. Build the team right someday.

I'm starting to question whether the 4 x 11mil+ forwards is the way to go.

How that wasn’t an interference call by Suter on Marner l will never understand.

Ditto for Suter holding Matthews jersey in one hand later on in the game.

Good first, poor second and just enough in the third to get the hopes up once again before blowing it. Typical Leafs game.

Played well for 35 minutes, and thats the result you get.
Blues were fine keeping it to the outside and Leafs agreed as usual.
The PP is just bad to put it nicely. Savard seems terrible but Berube had him before so he should be getting questioned too. However this is a core problem.

Should have made a bigger dent in the 1st period. I know there's lots to complain about, but squandering a lot of chances always seems to kill you later on.

I like getting to see the US feeds in some places because some teams have great color and excellent analysis...but the Blues aren't really one of them, even with Alexa ❤️❤️❤️.

I rate their feed an Indiana/USA, which is a nice way of saying 5.5/10; bland but acceptable.

So what, no f***in' GDT now?

This was a nasty game for teams that play twice a year. McCabe and Holmberg both got fed in their fights. Officiating overall was also shit - how do you give only Matthews a penalty on that scuffle behind the net? They canceled what, three power plays in the game? Go back to Peewee.

For trying to get the team to play a more 'north-south game', plenty of east-west passing from the boards to the middle of the ice in the Dzone that get picked off or go errant.

What's up with Matthews? He's bobbling chances and shooting wide all year now. He floors out at 45 goals but still, he's not looked good except for 1-2 games.

As soon as I heard Mitch had one goal I knew he'd score.

The last one was his first game so he gets some slack, but Binnington ate Woll's lunch, again. He wasn't bad tonight, but he could have had that second Parayko blast.

I'm starting to come around on Timmins, he needs to be insulated but he's very smart with the puck in the offensive zone and can make a good stretch.

Caber hits a ton of shin pads, not the first time I've noticed. I like how he got into it but baby Schenn whomped him.

They'll win tomorrow.

So you get smoked by this team at home, and follow that up with... A solid first period. Okay. Wow. Good job.

Oh, don't worry, the PP will figure it out. Or so I'm told.

Also, LOSING < WINNING
